Costco has them too.

weird, I saw a big pallet of them wrapped up on top of a shelf at the local Costco, but nowhere to be found in the store... how much?

I want one bad! finally wireless and affordable!

is the camera battery-powered? display on 12V line I imagine?

I'm definitely putting one up front for rock spotting...

Costco had them for $89 bucks. I almost bought one but the g/f stoped me. (damn that woman) I'm not sure what type of power source it takes?

Couldn't find em today at one of our local walmarts.

Yea, I've seen the website. I was hoping to find them at the actual B&M store. The Walmart website doesn't seem to be able to show you what stores actually have the product.
Yep
They go fast and not all the shops carry em I hit a few myself I called one said they did not have it showed up and they were there anyway!!!
I dont think the guys at the repair counter who deal with that dept's calls give a rat's a** about inventory.
Be sure no to make it so you cant return it in case you're not happy
Some will love it some wont but hey it s only 98 bucks(or 2 tankfulls if you will)
:D

W mart cam update

I case anyone buys or bought one at W.Mart:
Mine was glitchy so I exchanged it and was suprized when the replacement was an updated version
Among the improvements to this Vr3 is a brightness and contrast control and I suspect better reception(just a gut)
Also the jack on the reciever is a standard power jack
not the1/8"connector on the older ones(like walkman headphones)
If you just got the older model fear not they have a 90 day policy there You do have your reciept......right?
BTW fits nice right over the climate control next to the defrost button w/ double tape

how does one recognize the updated version from the outside?

As stated above has brightness and contrast control and no 1/8 pwr Look at the pic on the box if the reciever has 2 or 4 buttons

Easy on the egnogg there Santa:beer:

Found one at another walmart on Wed. How did you mount & wire the camera? It looks like it's supposed to attach to the license plate bolts, and probably tie into the power for the license plate light? But that's on the liftgate IIRC.

Looks like I didn't get the updated one though - only 2 buttons, no mention of brightness/contrast controls.

I would think that the license plate light would only work when you have the lights on. Use the reverse lights instead or a full-time 12V?

Yea - in any case, it meens getting inside to the wiring harness somehow.

I am going to hook up the Alpine camera system that matches the 7"LCD in my dash when time and funds allow.

Started putting mine in this afternoon - got a wire pulled through the tailgate to the wiring harness in the DS quarter panel. My 7 year old's little hands definitely helped with that bit!

I'd really like to put that LCD into the sun visor. There's already power there, but it seems to be just a little to big to fit into that mirror bezel :( It will fit, but you'd have to make a new bezel for it.

are the WM and the Costco the same?

Ok, got the camera unit almost in - need to get some longer bolts for the license plate. The picture is suprisingly good!

Now, can anybody point me to a good place to tap into to some 12V power for the LCD unit? It works off of the lighter of course, but that is otherwise occupied. I *HATE* working under the dash, so I thought I'd ask here first where people would reccomend splicing in.
