GGGAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!

Sometimes it is all I can do not to Pimp slap the guys that work at parts houses.

Called Abbeville's O'Reillies. said th had it, drove to get it, looked up for a 94 instead of my 84, had to go to auto zone.

Autozone had it but it had a sheet metal impeller, I woul have liked cast iron.

Called the Lafayette O Riellies, they said they had one with a cast impeller, drove way over there... same exact one as AZ. asked the kid where the one he told me he had that was cast was " Well, I wasn't sure what an impeller is, I just figured this is what you where talking about.

Thats a job, good luck with it. Do you have to take off the timing cover off? It's been a while but I remember changing mine when I replaced the chain, gears, and guides just because I was in there. After the first time I never for got about removing the bolts on the front of the oil pan that hold the bottom of that cover.

The job really is not all that much worse than doing it on a SBC, Take the fan clutch, fan, and shroud off and there are 9 bolts of 4 diferent sizes holding it onto the front of the engine, pop it off, prep the surface and pop the new one back on... I aint dont it yet because I am worn out, been up since BOUT 3AM after only 4 hours sleep.

Took it apart earlier, will re assemble in the morning if they don't call me back out to work.

Good for you bud, you'll be ready to go then :)

I QUIT!!!

I am tired as hell of getting a part @ a parts house and then getting home and it doesnt work/fit/last.

The water pump is ordered from Toyota, it will come tomorrow hopefully. I will be done with it.

The impeller hits on the inside of the engine, will only turn 1/16th of a turn in either direction.

been there!

i feel your pain the only thing that is a definite with toyotas is the toyoda part will always fit even at an astronomical price.....but hey it lasted this long kinda pays off in the long run.

the advanced autozonoreilly's part will give ya greif.

today, tommorrow, etc...............

we should change this thread to back to the parts house we go

I've had NOTHING BUT good things to say about Yota parts. In fact, I am giving away some AFT. Parts...I'll see if anyone wants'em Sunday, then they're going up on Mud for FREE....I don't want any of them on my rig...if its not OEM or Yota, I don't want it. Even the stupid aft. hood bumpers crack within 1 year...all crap IMHO....

Tried too. Every time I call over there for parts as soon as I mention the landcruiser discount "Wait, i thought these where parts for a 4runner" They are. "well it is a Landcrusier club the discount is for land cruisers"

Plus I have to drive over there and prepay when I order.

Most of the time I end up ordering from Hampton, like this morning I ordered the water pump over the phone with no credit card even mentioned. The little bit extra it cost me due to the no discount will cost me less than the gas it would take to drive to new iberia twice.

P.S. the onetime I pressed them on the discount I did end up getting it, but every time I call for a quote they balk at it.

I'll talk to them on that, as for it saving you on the gas for the drive out there if your not needing the parts ASAP you can ask Mike to pick them up for you on his way in from NI. I'm sure he'd help you out.

Yep...no problem there... You can ALSO try this:

Go to Toyotaworld.com Find your PART and price...Musson's will be close to the same. Better yet, get the PART NUMBER. I can get the part for you....no problem.

I finally just bought a CD/PDF with ALL my Toyota parts and microfiche on it, so I can just find the exact part I need and then I enter that into Toyotaworld's system to get a price (which reflects 25% off of regular and comes out very close to the Musson price BTW. Then I just order my stuff and they don't have to spend time looking up part no's and all that...I've done that part (Plus I don't trust parts people all that much anyways...I'd rather be wrong and blame myself...lol)

ANyways, happy to pick up parts for any of you , anytime....go there daily......for now..... ;)

Ok, File this under "Socks is an Idiot"

The truck is not overheating. According to my mechanic the Guage is screwed up. he drove it for on hour in the country, let it idle a good while, temperature guage was high, but according to him the engine didn't boil over so the engine, fanclutch, and everything else is fine. I just need a better guage.

So what do yall think, Try another O'reilly Equius guage. or just pony up for a autometer. Josh is thinking autometer.

well i would chalk that one up to experience. i bet a pretty expensive one. at least you found a good mechanic. every thing does have a price. now you are on track to goto the crawl with a piece of mind!

not sure on the gauge.

maybe toyoda????

explains it. good for you, get a good electric autometer you can find them in town, they make the el-cheapo but they have a better model as well the performance ones they sell are good. Get the electric one and use the factory sensor just tap into the factory wiring. The el-cheapos come with that wire coil probe they work I just don't like them and they can flake out.

I am not sure that the factory wireing on the truck can be trusted for much. the factory gauge in the dash never worked and i dont know if the wireing, the guage, or the sender was at fault. I already have a wire snaked through to the guage I have now, and will probably just reuse it.

Josh, was looking back through this thread and all of your pains bud...

... you need to buy that 4 Runner that John and Landry was talking about !!!!

What a steal.
