it is a good deal but everything that the current owner has done I would have to re-do. the only thing really done to it that stands out is the swap to efi and the rhinolined interior. The truck has 4.88's and a rear locker so I am still looking at regearing to get to what I want, still has the push pull steering, and then I have the issue of trying to sell my truck. On a more personal note that truck does not have a sunroof :D

My Dually sold yesterday so I have the money to do the gears and lockers now, get that done and that will get my alot closer to my goal. After that I will tackle the transfer case.

So my thinking is for 3000 dollars (in theory, they guy sounded pretty dead set that he did not want to sell that truck for three grand, I could have a truck with 33's a rear locker, and 4.88s or I could have my truck with 5.29s, a spool and front locker, and 35's.

So be it!

Get busy!

me

trust me I am about too. I don't want a repeat performance of the last time I went to barnwell mountain.

I have a bunch of stuff being watched right now on ebay, I am goign to call COR and B&M in the morning and et quotes for doing the gears/lockers. If the price difference is not to great I will just bring the truck in and let them do it all, if the price difference is enough I will pull the chunks and just bring them that Also dont know if just letting them order the parts them selves would be that much higher than me ordering everyhting my self and paying all the shipping.

this is y`all decision just show up:clap:

Ok, Well lets try to mutate this into a buildup thread...

Ordered my Aussie for the front today from off-shore, will be going to lafayette tomorow when I get back on dry ground and putting a deposit down on my 5.29s and the spool, hopefully will be in the shop on monday getting them installed.

Good to hear Josh, put the power to the ground.

Good to hear Josh look forward to hearing of your progress. You may find a good deal online for your gears I shopped around locally and even getting them at their price I beat it by $150. Just for kicks when I was in the area I dropped by Cajun offroad to check their install prices for the gears and just the labor was $420 per axle

I also checked with local guys about gear prices, but the online price was way cheaper. 4wheel parts advertises a Toyota gears w/ master install kit and gear oil for around 400. If you call them it might even be cheaper, but do not know if the shops will install parts they don't purchase.
Good luck any way you do it.

I dont know, Just for kicks I called B&M and priced everything, they wanted 1900 just for installing the gears did not get around to pricing the locker or the spool so I figure it would ahve ended up in the 23-2400 dollar range for the job.
I am getting everything installed @ Cajun including the price of the spool and locker for 1900.

I could probably save a bit ordering the gears and all that online, but I would rather pay a little extra so that they will waranty the parts and the labor, rather than just the labor and having the truck down if they have to tear it down and I deal with the parts on my own.

Go to Lafayette custom . $250. per axle . There was a guy name Mike from Cajun offroad that did it on side . Cash talks

Really now.... Hmm.

Might have to just go pick up my parts when they come in and bring them over there in that case.

Sounds like you have a lot planned for the 4runner. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

I would love some help when it comes time to do the high steer or the doubler. that will be down the road though.

Well got some unglamorous work done on the truck tonight, Went to change my Brake booster, it was filled with brake about half full, went to the city to get a new master cylinder, when I got home my Ebay transfer case shifter had arrived. So once I get the brakes bled tomorrow, I will have a truck that both stops and can shift in and out of 4x4 without the use of a screw driver :D

After seeing a shifter in good condition, it makes me realize just how bad mine was.

ya startin to worry me Josh:D
