Here is a pic of my 3b and h42 after I pulled it from my bj60.

The rear engine mount bolts to the transmission.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/diesel-tech-24-volts-systems/203049-bj42-vs-bj60-h41.html

Today, sight unseen, I purchased a bj42 h41 to replace my h42 in my bj60.

I am wondering if the 82 bj42 series h41 will have provisions for the bj60 series rear engine/ tranny mount.

Do the late model 40s have the same set up as the 60s for the rear mount?

Does the rear engine mount bolt onto the tranny or bell housing in a 82 40?

Hopefully the new h41 will have provisions for the mount.

I know the bj60 h42 has the provisions for the x member mount.

It bolts right on the transmission.

Anyone been under a 82 bj42 or have pics of the set up?

Can anyone confirm how a 82 bj42s transmission is held into place?

Could everything be swapped internally from the h41 case to the h42 case if the provisions for the mount are not on the h41 tranny?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think the BJ42's use the same mount as the '60 but the BJ40's use a mount that bolts to the bellhousing. See pic's here https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-owners-club/76830 post #23 & 24.

If worst comes to worst you can either get my extra belhousing with the rear mount or you can swap everything from the H41 to the H42 case (it works 'cause I've done it!!). You can see pictures of the H42 to H41 swap here https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...972-september-potm-cruiser-guy-guatemala.html they start at the beginning of the third page.
