Pardon my ignorance on this, but I was wondering why someone would disconnect the vacuum lines going to the axles? I'm new to the LC world and wrapping my head around the mechanics. (former 3rd gen 4runner guy)

Clogged one way valve? To extend them? I believe they are actually vent or breather lines. I run mine to high in the engine bay on any vehicle that will ford deep water.

Don't know if it's clogged, but it's disconnected on the axle end. Can't really check or troubleshoot anything right now, as it's kinda ripped apart doing random projects.

It would be the axle breather/vent. Won't hurt disconnected unless you go through water that's deeper than the axle

But you said lines when it should just be one so could be something else

These are just vent lines. If they are clogged, it may allow the gear oil to mix with the grease in the hubs.

One in front, one in rear.

They should be routed back to the vent box or re-routed up to the cowl area in order to keep water out of the axles. There is a "filtered" vent box on the left front frame rail (LHD) versions. Rear doesn't have anything other than a vented plug.

Gotcha. Thanks, you guys are awesome!
