Hi all,
I am the proud owner of a 1977 SWB FJ40 (in Australia).
Currently doing a bit of work to get it back on the road...

Now, this may seem like a silly question but given the broad compatibility of so many factory and aftermarket parts, I thought I should ask anyway....

Without modifications, can I use FF rear axles intended for use in 1979-84 FJ40 models in my 1977 model?

If I can use them, then great!! Otherwise I'll be paying up for some locally supplied Nitro Gear FF axles.

Look forward to your wise advice.

THANKS!!!
MARK

BTW... this is my car.

IF your market was spec'd like the US market, you could have axles with the higher 3:70 ratio, so that would be the first and most critical thing to check.

Second would be to consider the difference in the e-brake assemblies between the years.

Flanges and WMS should be the same.

Best

Mark A.
