As many of you already know, I'm putting '76 axles under my '64. The pinion seal seems to be leaking on the '76 rear axle. The auto parts store has them in stock but they're asking if it's a "Full Float" or "Semi Float". Anybody know? As far as I know the axles were off of a US FJ40 if that makes a difference.

should'nt matter.
the 3rds interchange....so i'm thinking they are the same casting on the non usa axles.
the front axle is a full floater as well.

if they have them on the shelf.....look at both and compare them.

Hi All:

yep, the pinion seal should be the same no matter whether it is a semi-floater or full-floater Land Cruiser axle assembly. FYI the pinion seal is also the same as the front output seal on the one-piece transfer case.

Regards,

Alan
