Aux Fuel Tank for an HZJ77, anyone know of one produced? Or am I going to have to design and make one myself?
I know Simon has designed one for his old 77.
Would a HZJ75 Troopy's tank fit somewhere under there?
I think the main thing that would be hard with this is where is the best place to mount a filler.... I don't like cutting holes in the body. I am a fan of stock body shapes to an extent.

If the floor was the sAme as the troopy and ute with no room under the front seats that's were the main tank is, if you do find some room under the 77 you could maybe get a duel filler bit from a 80 or 100 series and run a fill line from there Down to the new tank . Or do what the Aussies do and replace the factory tank with a aftermarket long range tank I think they hold around 160ltrs

i've tossed up that idea.
The main idea is for a WVO (waste vegetable oil) conversion

Foreal Boreal, this is the kit I have for my BJ74. Holds 45L and sits nice and tightly in the back of my 70 series. Takes up about 1/3 of the room behind the rear seat. Mine is secured to the custom platform/shelving unit with tie-downs. Theres two installers in BC on the website, maybe check it out.

Let me know if you want some pics.

I am not buying a pre-made kit. I do not want space taken up in the back of my truck.
I would install it myself.
Cheers,

l turboed and intercooled my HZ77,got rid of the huge muffler, run a 3" pipe like a HDJ81 system on the right side of the truck, there is lots of room where the muffler was,my tank is 130 litres.
45 litres is not big enough for long distance driving.
the 0 series dual filer my work,l have one on my HDJ81 now, with a 130 litres WVO tank under the rear of mytruck.

I would love to put a dual filler in it. I love how clean one would be.
I am sure WVO will happen on this rig. Diesel will become stupid soon enough and I'll be able to run SVO for cheaper than filling up at the pump. YES!

I am the lucky one to buy Simons old 77,and yes I would agree that a dual filler would be great but Simon did a great job on this truck. If you want I will try and take some pics for you to see how he did it to give you some ideas.

The smell of WVO inside a vehicle is not something I would be prepared to tolerate.

IF you're going to run that stinky crap in your 77, you really need to put the tank outside the vehicle.

The smell o burning WVO at the tailpipe is sure nicer than smell of burning Diesel.

foreal boreal,
l have a HZJ75 fueltank here on the shopfloor,l should do some measurement when l have some time, always too many cruisers to work on.

Yeah post it up when you have time. I would love to check it out.
Heck even the filtering system and overall wvo system thats installed. I have a good plan but I am open to new ideas.

exactly. I don't want to be pouring that stuff into a tank inside the back of my truck.

he dropped the 77 off yesterday,he's gone to Mexico foe a week.

don't know. if so this is news for me.

As far as i knew the "sub tank" (rear tank) for utes and troopys is the same as the Main /only tank in the SWB,MWB,WGN as they are all up the rear of the cruisers?:hhmm:

the tank is from a HZJ75,l will take some pics today.
