Drawer order is in!

I'll post a sister thread on arrival with some install picks so folks can see the fabrication details of the drawers and the finished product.

Thanks for those of you that expressed interest and my fellow group buyers.

If there's anything specific you all want to see in the install thread about the construction of the units and install, let me know.

Did these ever get installed??? Also, which ones did you order for the 80's? Looking at the possibility of getting a set directly from ARB USA, and wondering how the install went.

according to the website, ~200lbs including the two drawers with side covers (which provide a completely flat surface)

Well I can verify this. I just pulled mine out this weekend and its a HEAVY SOB! (Had to reinstall my third row for my ever growing family. :bang:)

Sorry not for sale but it is a VERY well built unit that I've used A LOT. You won't regret it if you get one.

This are really nice drawers but the weight(200lbs) of the entire set up makes me wonder why so heavy:hhmm: I have build one before made out of .75" plywood and it only weigh close to 90lbs. Drawer 200lbs, stuff inside of the drawer 200lbs, stuff on top of the drawer 200lbs sounds like a 800lbs spring set up will be needed to accommodate your next trip...

Mine weigh 60 lbs each. 120 lbs total without the in-fill area (wings). That is based on the Fed-ex bill. Basically weigh and cost as much as the AT composite drawers which are the lightest. But ARB only open 2/3 of the way.

I have heard the ARB's I have are are made by Outback. But maybe there are differences between the branding? Like the plastic trim along the face that broke when I took it out of the box? Otherwise happy with them though.

Looks like I can get a set of the ARB versions specifically made for the 80s delivered to the Bay Area for around $2k with shipping, tax, etc. Includes one fixed-top drawer, one roller-top drawer, and the fit-kit with wings, etc. for the 80. Anyone have a picture of their install? Also, wanted to confirm that the ones which are 21.06"w X 41.14"d X 11.02"h are the right size. Lead-time is a few weeks for the boxes. They also seem to have the barrier which is almost identical to the Milford, though it is a bit pricey at $600, ouch.

Hey Steve - Don't have a pic but they fit perfect. Check flyingwil build-up for some. That's who I bought mine from back when they had free shipping. An inch higher than the folded seats backs, but otherwise perfect.

I did test one with a 90 lb winch inside and it still opened no problem. Drawer bottom didn't bend too much. Not impressed with the plastic trim though. Probably replace it with aluminum. Hope that helps.
