But now the plot thickins more. That is a toyota floor, tranny cover and battery/tool box. The only thing I've seen before in lit besides full vehicles is the chassis only and chassis and cowl. But it looks like this had the front floor minus the sides.

I really like the stock speedo and gauges. The aftermarket ones not so much.

I can see the front hubs are stock. I guess the dirty and clean bolts was throwing me off. Besides my bad eyesite. Is that a mix of 23mm 21mm lug nuts? The front wheels are toyota, is there any spacer behind them? Are they 16". Here in the US the only toyota wheels we have found to fit the FJ25 front axle is the stock 16" with the hole in the side.

Are those 40/45 and 55 bumpers in the back included in the price?

i would also like to know about the rims...what are the front size...and what is stamped on the outside rim of the front rims?

yeah now that you mention it...i was under the assumption that it was cowl/chassis only...but...it would depend on what Les Thiess had ordered.

nice ...thanks...its a little more refined than the one that was for sale awhile back in OZ ....but was a 1959 i think...

same tailgate...but the inside of the rear bed area wasnt boxed in...it was just a single panel.

This is very curious, I've never seen it on a 25. It looks like it would line up with the hole in the 25 rim.

Are all your drums notched like this?

Yes they are notched like that and they do line up with the 25 rims, the front one was missing the inspection plate but th othrs are still there.
these photos are from the RH rear, looks like I dont need to overhaul the brakes

I just checked the extra set of 25 axles I have stored away. My are the same. Covers on the back axle deums and the cover missing from the front two drums While this is not off of one of mine it was still the factory wheels. The key word is was. I now have them

Well, that's one mystery solved. Now we know why that stupid hole is in the rim that we're all looking for.

Was the Theiss FJ25 part of the Snowy River Scheme? Because you predate what they claim is #1 in Oz by about two years.

Hmmm, thats no good!!!!, but they do want to come and have a look at it.

No surprise other than they would like to have a look. That's more insterest than we seem to have here. It's too bad but it seems the Land Cruiser started 3/69. If you have a part number of something before that they can can check to see if it's available but that's only if you give them the part number


On the subject of parts numbers I checked my July 63 FJ25 parts book and it doesn't show the cover on the drum

Thinking about, I've got a set of '58 axles with the inspection plate. They're just a good bit more corroded than that. It must have gone away in the later models.

Cammo did you look at these pictures? FJ28 You're only separated by 30 or so FJ28's.

Now that's odd. The set of spare axles I have are from a 1960. I was going to say that the FJ28's drums had alot more rust than the set I have here The cover on these are a little different and the hole is shaped different. I'll post pictures tomorrow night. Too late to change the batteries in the cameram take them and then post. 4:00 AM comes early

Yer, did notice that and his was sold on 20th Feb 1959, I thinking not alot would have been sold before that date, so the other 38 cars sold after mine would have been the first 13 then the 25 the next year,

Im almost convinced this is one bought in for the Snowy scheme, what do you guys think?

The thiess 25, was that the first public sold one imported??? or the first cruiser ever in Aus??

i was under the understanding that the 25 was 1st sold at the dealer...and was not a snowy thiess

I don't know what it actually is. If I recall, they trimmed it out as a late 58-59+ .............. t-bird, script on the aprons, and a newer style speedo. Cammo may only have them beat by a couple months, not years.

I hope those early cruiser seats of mine work for the old beast and I will drop in those old seat mount frames to ya too...

So whos been out to their 25 and checked if the hole in the rim is lined up with the brake drum??
