head came back this week, crack tested, pressure tested, new set of valves and one pre-cup replaced.
and a set of new head bolts
bought a 12 x 1.25 mm tap to clean out the thread holes
the only snag i hit during re-assembly was the the rear most push rod would not go down all the way... after doing my research on mud i opted to take off the push rod cover and found this
the lifter was only just out of the hole but far enough to put it on a slight angle and stop it going back down... small setback, I used permatex ultra grey to seal up the cover again rather than getting another cork gasket so will see how that goes.
work continues tomorrow so will have some completed photos hopefully.
