When I come up 81N, I use Exit 104 for Ravine (Exxon, Raceway Restaurant). Gas/Food is on the right after you come off the ramp. Rausch Creek park is left off the ramp, then follow Molleystown Road west for about 5 minutes. At the fork in the road for Lincoln, bear right for Joliett. When you get near the top of the road, RC entrance is just past the intersection with Lincoln Road on the Left.

good summary Gary!

Here are the directions from the parks' site:

Directions to the Off-Road Park: From PA Interstate 81 take Exit 107 (Tower City/Tremont). Make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 209 South heading towards Tower City. In the village of Joliett, make a left onto Joliett Street. Make another left onto Main Street. Follow Main Street until you see our entrance on the right. If using Mapquest, enter Joliett, PA as your destination (when asked to choose, pick [1-33] Main Street, Tremont, PA 17981, USA.)

I listed my cell phone in post #111 in case anyone needs to call me, please feel free to contact me.

There will be two or more groups to wheel on Saturday, stock and modified so pick your poison : )

a little bad news.
Although I AM still going to be making Pig Run tee's, they will not be done in time for the run.

I am really sorry about this, but I can ship them to you all after they are done.

I just got back from moving my mother across country from Oregon today and it took longer than expected. All the crazyness involved in that and work before I left put the T-shirts on hold.

Anyway, I wanted to let you all know beforehand. I will take a tally of who want's one and ship it to them after production.

Also.... the same issues, as well as being broke after the move, might even prevent me from coming up this year....
I wonder if Lynn will let me sneak in if I come in my van and promise not to do any wheeling?

Mail your contributions to the "Bonzai Chris Wants to Wheel Fund" today!

I'll chip in $5 if I can have an autographed copy of your avatar. I've got an empty seat if you don't want to drive and I may also have an extra "punch" on my RC card if Lynn will let you use it.

My plan is to arrive Thursday evening and camp at RC. I may wheel at Paragon on Friday with the EC4RJ or just stay at RC.

Bob, what time are you leaving Warrenton tomorrow? I am heading to Paragon at about 1:00 or so. Want to caravan, at least until R.C.?

You should meet up with us Friday morning at PAP. We're all getting checked into the park at about 8:30 and we'll be on the trails by 9:00.

Jason,

I'd like to caravan but I won't be getting away until at least 3:00. Call me if you're still interested.

can anyone confirm good cell phone coverage in Rausch? (as opposed to Paragon which is spotty unless on top of the mountain...)

I'm thinking nasty thought's about work Friday but need to have a working cell phone to do it :D

I was able to talk to my wife from the rock garden in RC. I have verizon. But when we went further inside (trail #13/14/16) my signal was gone for a little while. So the coverage is kinda patchy, meaning there are places in RC I did have coverage and there are places I did not.

OK, great info guys! That's kinda what I figured, but I think it's better than Paragon.
I just can't be out of touch for hours on end... it'll throw up a flag :D

Is the pig run this weekend? :D

see y'all there - I don't have a keg of beer this time - but do have some homemade paint stripper.... :hillbilly:

i almost always have full service at paragon...i never have any service down at red ridge campground though, i dont really remember paying much attention to my phone while at rc;p

I'm not going to make it after all. I can't get the fricking tie rod ends off of my old tie rod. New ones won't be here in time. Have fun.

clamp the tie ROD in a good vice. Preferably one with the square clamps for pipe, but a regular vice will work if it's big enough.

put a long pipe over the tie rod END threaded portion for leverage. strong steady leverage will work for this job. Banging and such does nothing.

Also, a friend on a good pipe wrench on the tie ROD might accomplish the same thing, but be carefull that too much force doesn't collapse the tie ROD tube.

Good luck!

Dan helped me take out my TRE before the CM06. I used PB Blaster but he had some thing else that was more effective, I forget the name of it. The real trick was the two hammers. After soaking the TRE threads, Dan tapped the tie rod with two hammers, right around the TRE threads. I was rotating the tie rod and he was tapping with the hammers. Then I used my vice grip on the tie rod and he used his wrench on TRE. It came right off. The tappiing makes the threads to come loose.

Chris and Riad, thanks for the suggestions, but I don't have a bench vice and the hammer trick hasn't worked. A propane torch hasn't helped much either. Nor has my fat arse working on a 4' piece of pipe over a monkey wrench!

Bummer dude! Yeah the propane torch does not make enough heat for those stuborn TREs, I have had that experience when I took my original TREs out months ago. Back then I took it to a local auto shop, they told me that they had to heat it up quiet a lot before they could even move it. 2 ($90.00) hours later they came out.

wish I could have made
there is always next year
piglet was not quite ready....
have fun piggies:cheers:
