i, being almost 16, want a system in my soon to be 2001 white lc. i was gana try to get 4 15''s or 4 12''s but that might be hard. i know i can do 4 12's. i was gana put them under plexiglass or sumn so i can still store stuff. i dont have the back seats in. also...i want a flip out head unit. with a screen. wat brands should i look at. i like the alpines. i was wanting to know if any of you have any ideas and experience in this area. thanks

Can you put that english? I frankly can't figure out what you are saying.

in english that means what kinda subs, amps and head units do u all recomend. i think i can fit 3-4 12'' or 15'' subs in the trunk. what are your recomendations

You would probably want to try Car Audio forums or something similar. I would say with the displacement that 12" subs are cabable of nowdays, two would be more than overkill. I would check the usual suspects, Infinity, JL Audio (I never liked their stuff), Boston Acoustics. How about some good sound quality instead of mine is louder than yours? Check out Image Dynamics subwoofers. Amplifier's, I no longer know who makes the good stuff, but I would expect Infinity, Alpine, and JBL are all decent. Head units, Alpine and Eclipse are fine, check out Nakamichi also.

Keep in mind that at 16 you are not thinking about things like long term hearing loss. 1 10" subwoofer in your truck is capable of generating 120db spl levels. 5 minutes of bass at that level will cause hearing loss. You won't notice it now, you may not notice it much in 10 years, but as you age, it will get progressively worse. Think about a world where you wake up and can't hear the birds, can't hear the rain on the roof, don't hear the russle of the leaves.

Worse yet, think about a world where you have constant ringing in your ears from tinnitus (ringing of the ears). I suffer from tinnitus, the result of some assholes in junior high that lit some M-80s and threw them in the bathroom while I and a couple other guys were taking a leak. For what they thought was "funny" I get to live with ringing in my ears every day. When I go to bed at night, I hear the high pitched ringing. When it is quiet, I hear the ringing. Sitting here now, I can hear the ringing. You to can suffer from this lovely desease by blasting youself with a loud boom system to look "cool." Think about how cool it will be to still be able to hear in 30 years.

Aren't you glad you asked?

j1263b- I think your caps key is broken, as you don't have any in your post. Proper grammar and spelling can go a long way in communicating your needs with others. Unless you are surfing ih8mud from a mobile phone, there really is no need to abbreviate so many of your words.

As far as your audio ambitions, you would do much better to seek out a car audio forum to find answers to your questions. Most on this board will pursue more moderate and practical audio systems, and as such, will not have much information to help you in getting 4@15" subwoofers into your Land Cruiser.

You *might* try chat for more audio help, but be warned, use appropriate English spelling and grammar and try to write well thought posts or you will be flamed.

Man trust me, don’t spend the $$$ on the stereo. You will kick yourself later or better yet save it for the tow rig. Wait till you submerge those thousands of dollars worth of stereo in a creek in the middle of the night. That carpet on your box stays wet for weeks, and the smell never goes away no matter how hard you clean it. If I could have half the $$$ I have ever spent on mobile audio back, I would do it with out regrets.

And don’t forget chrome don’t get you home

In addition to the comments above, recall from your previous post: SEARCH

get an eclipse AVN head unit, you might as well get a double din, since you have space. flip outs are for single din.

i'd also go w/ 4 12's. 4 15's is way overkill, unless you're looking to park it and open the liftgate.

Ok, I be fluent in EBONICS (http://www.joel.net/EBONICS/translator.asp).
Yo, I see what u say’n. I’d ditch the alpine it’s Buttco. I have 1 in my VR4 and hate it; B’cause all the letters are worn off the buttons and u can’t read them anymore.
Back in the day, precision power amps was d’bomb. Defiantly go JL audio on the subs. And use MB quart for component speakers.
And don’t forget to add the rear facing TV monitors for everyone else to watch!
Or better yet, I would take the rear glass out and have it etched slightly, and run a projection TV in 16:9 on the full rear window. Then everyone can hear & see you!

Fo-shizzle! :grinpimp:

Where are the bling links for rear glass done like this ?

I just had seen it on MTV’s Pimp My Ride yesterday, Yo! Some people just tune in!
They didn’t use the rear glass like I mentioned, but a fold down piece of frosted glass. If you have a wall of speakers in the back, it won’t matter that you can’t see out the rear!:grinpimp:
