Hey everyone,

I have looked at a bunch of threads on related issues and tried every fix from those threads and haven’t been able to solve the problem. I have taken every connector off under the dash and both footwells and cleaned them even though I did not see any corrosion on any of the pins. I have taken the head unit out and checked all connections, roof mounted dvd the same. I have gone through and checked all fuses, I removed the seat and checked the amp connectors, cleaned the battery terminals. I can’t seem to find any problems.

I’m at a loss, and not having any music with a screaming toddler in the backseat is a no go. What are my options here? I’ve found a few videos in Australia and somewhere else where they talk about the issue but no solutions.
Any help would be great or anything to point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Try this?

My problem was due to the amplifier failing under the drivers seat

Take the 4 bolts out of the drivers seat and lean it out of the way

If the truck is on, the radio is on but the amplifier fan isnt running, it is likely the amplifier. As long as power is getting to it. I would see if there are other steps to prove it is the amplifier, but that is what I did and everything worked after replacing the Amplifer

I removed the front seat and checked the connections. I will try again and see if the fan is running. I have no way of knowing if the radio is on though. The screen just says “audio off” and I can’t click any of the tabs.

I just checked the dvd unit and the connectors are completely different than this thread. Some in the thread cut the plug off and spliced wires in but I’m not at the point of doing that just to see if it works or not. I don’t want to dig a deeper hole for myself.

Did you check the fuses in the passenger side panel. That also caused a non audio output for me once. I think it was the multi-media fuse marked TEL

Yeah I checked that one and 16. Im going to pull the cd player out tomorrow. When I did function check the steering wheel volume worked but the rotary volume and tuner did not. However, I can load and unload cds. When I removed the head unit I didn’t touch the cd player. I don’t know why I didn’t but I didn’t and will take it apart again tomorrow.

Everything else works on the head unit but when you go to audio it just says Audio Off and I can’t click on anything. I would make the assumption that there is a problem with either the CD player/ radio or the amp, but I’m not an electronic expert and have no idea what I’m talking about.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I have the identical problem, I can tell you it isn't the amp, I have swapped that out before and the symptoms of a bad amp are different from this problem. I took the head unit out and it wasn't getting power, my reverse camera also doesn't work. My drivers side footwell got wet so I'm guess it it something in there but I can't find it.

I sent out the head unit and the amp to a repair place and waiting to hear back if the head unit is faulty and if they can repair it. They said the amp was fine but wanted it sent anyway. I will keep this thread posted when I hopefully figure it out.

Ok, I fixed it.

The dvd unit that must be bad. The stereo, amp and dvd all need to be working or you will receive the audio off message. I sent the stereo and amp off to get checked and they told me they all work. They only charged me for shipping. The owner reached out and told me the dvd must be bad and you need to make it seem like it’s working. You have to cut 4 wires off the dvd connector and connect them together. Shout out to OEM Auto Audio Inc out of upstate NY.

Below is a diagram of an newer LC connector but it’s close enough to my 2011 that you will be able to figure it out. I just twisted them together and taped them and plugged everything back in. When I started the car it said audio off and I was majorly bummed out. I had ripped the dash and stereo out probably 10 times at this point. I did the diagnostics and it was just a cluster **** of codes. I backed out of the menu and pressed the Bluetooth tab and to my surprise everything worked. CDs work too. Oh, I tried for 2 hours to depin the wires because I really didn’t want to cut them and I finally gave up and cut them.
