Hi everybody!

Well, long time no post for me. My HJ61 is in need of a new body! But i'll see what i can do aboyt this when dough comes along.

Does anybody knows if the Auburn gear ECTED LSD/Locker diffs are availlable for toyota 9.5 axles?

Thanks a lot.

Max.

Do they make them for any of the cruiser axles? BTW dumb question but I replaced the factory inners in the front with the 30 spline Bobby Long inners and have FF Toyota in the rear, clueless as to it's number/size designation. :o how can I tell the size as these seem to come in spline and gear specific sizes. Thanks.

The only thing I know Auburn makes for the LC is a LSD.

I emailed their customer service dept about a month ago regarding this very question. Their response basically said they are considering new applications but do not have a timeline for the yota 9.5. I take this to mean they have no plans to make them.

Edit: here is the email response

Thanks for your inquiry. Watch our website for new product releases. I have not been given any type of timeframe for this application.

After scratching around their site this is all that I could find:Leading Manufacturer of Traction Enchancing Differentials & Planetary Drives - Auburn Gear

Basically LSD. too bad as it sounded interesting.
However this gets me to my second question. The Auburn site talks about Toyota axles as 8.78 and earlier in the thread a poster referred to Toyota 9.5, what do those numbers mean. I have been able to figure out that the spline count, 30 spline refers in this case to the splines in the side gears. Can anyone bring me up to speed on the meaning of 8.78 or 9.5 in relation to Toyota axles.
Thanks, John

I may be wrong but I think it refers to the diameter of the ring gear.

The cruiser ring gear can be measured as a couple different sizes, some see it as a 9.5, others as smaller. I think it depends on where you measure from.
