Not that I was shocked...but it was kind of cool. I don't find myself in situations where ATRAC can do it's thing, but Sunday, I ran up to my cabin just to check on things. It's down an old logging road that is rough in spots. On the way out, I intentionally put my left tires into a "washout" and let the right tires climb up the embankment. In doing so, my left front tire started to spin. Almost instantly (in 4 low) ATRAC kicked in and I felt the right front tire catch and pull me on up the hill! Fun stuff, silly I guess, but fun.
I ran a load of firewood up there Tuesday evening and pulling my trailer up the same hill - empty - I did the same thing just for fun. I was in 4 high this time, which caused ATRAC to not engauge nearly as fast. Wheel spin seems harder to control in 4 high on a steep hill. Just thought it was cool and wanted to share.

Congrats on the experience! It's fun!

RobRed and I have uploaded some videos on YouTube of Atrac working and such. If you want to learn more, check 'em out.

Having seen a YouTube video with ATRAC working I thought it wouldn't be as effective as it was. The lc in the video may have been in 4H. I had a chance to try it and it worked exceptionally well.

Yeah, seems to work MUCH better in 4L rather than 4H. 4H is geared too high to get the steady/slow wheel spin needed, at least if you're on a hill or wheels are in a bind. It wasn't near like a true locker, but for an open diff with a smart brake system, I was impressed. I'll be pulling a trailer w/ two 4wheelers up it this weekend, might need atrac's help LOL
