Not really, the Portal-Tek's can be specified with a gear ratio from 3 :1 to 7.33:1wngrog said:Get the Stak 3 speed case and go as high as you can in the diffs. This will be an issue with the portals.
wngrog said:Man, I LOVE the 4 speed Cruiser case.
That's the nice thingwngrog said:Anyway, 3:1 to 7:1 sounds to me like your choices in the 3rd member befor a 2:1 portal reduction.
wngrog said:192:1 is sick, sick, sick and will be a fun ratio to have when you want to play with it.
I vote to keep the SM420 and get the STAK in the current ratio they are offering.
wngrog said:SM420-7:1 x Portal Tech-5:1 x STAK 3:1/5.5:1
That gives you 105:1 and 192:1 for your crawl ratios.
I like the SM420 options there the best. 105:1 is a great final drive for crawling and use of 2nd gear to get the wheels spinning.
192:1 is sick, sick, sick and will be a fun ratio to have when you want to play with it.

then why not go to a 4.5:1 (75:1, 95:1, 135:1 & 172:1) or 4:1 (66:1, 84:1, 120:1 & 153:1) final ratio?Mace said:I am VERY happy that I have the ability to lose that 200:1 ratio
ah, I understand.Mace said:200:1 is entertaining, don't get me wrong.
But I would hate to have that be my low range ratio...
Well working it backwards, 55 and 70, with 35'' rubber, OD and 4.88:1 final would be between 2 and 2.5 K rpm, with 4.5:1 it would be 1.8 to 2.3k, hmmmMace said:What revs are you looking for on the highway?
