Installed new radiator and lost some tranny fluid in process - refilled - all good on atf fluid level but now appear to have a pretty significant leak....any thought on where this is coming from?

Unfortunately...Yep

For kicks, you ought try a bottle of Blue Devil Head gasket sealer and report back. I poured a bottle in Ford work truck that was burning about 2 gallons/week and all has been good since last summer. Your's isn't burning it so I'm not sure the results. We all know the right/long term way is to change it. Just thought I would buy you some time...

Dang it - not seeing anything in the radiator - no drop in engine performance as far as I can tell....$@&&$?

Just installed a sweet gamviti rack as well for an awesome road trip I had planed this a coming Friday.....

Oh - and thanks - hoping I could have pushed this known monster of PM until next year but.....

read through this

some pretty good info there - think I'm leaving work early to clean up exisiting leak mess and see if i can locate if the leak is actually coming from the head gasket - or somewhere above maybe- have dashcommand so will keep an eye on engine temp.

Was supposed to be heading out on a 700 mile round trip this coming friday.....yes....I'm clutching at straws....
;)

Yeah, radiators and HGs seems to come together in these rigs as they get older. That's why I'm suspect if an 80 Series for sale has a new radiator.

cleaned things up and dried off underneath to see if i could track down leak some more.....

appears to be coming from the seam

but then a little bit later - leak seems to have migrated to rear of block - could have been just down to me driving around.

With regards to the cooling system - everything is new - all hoses etc - except this mystery hose which apparently runs under the throttle body - couldnt get to it....

local garage says a hydrocarbon test will be definitive proof..doing that tomorrow morning - under 100 bucks.
