@98100series Yep....you got me. Hands up I was not going to have anything more to do with this thread however, you called me foolish, name calling is always a sign of someone struggling and grasping at straws to make their argument, now let me see if I can reply to your comment....careful the following may have content you cannot handle, run to mummy if you need.

Is that right you DID pay to purchase something without doing research on a seller??

And then you did NOT get what you ordered, is that true?

And then did NOTHING about it....well apart from cry and let out your frustrations on MUD.......really?

Now who is FOOLISH?

Now what is this IGNORE button for....oh I see, I 'press' it and no longer see your posts, I had forgotten what it was for as I have only used it once in 11+ years and it was because the amount of immature jerks on MUD are very few and far between, you have become number 2, this is my version of taking my ball home.

Regards

Dave

EDIT: Oops nearly forgot........bip...your gone.
Thank god! Couldn’t have ask for a better gift!

To answer your questions -

I figured a “supported vendor” would do right by the forum of which he “supports” didn’t feel the need to “research” him but great point for the future.

I did not get what I ordered, Yes that’s true.

I did do something about it, I disputed the charge.

And you are in here defending an outfit that you have never purchased anything from or had an personal experience that outwardly admits he provides s***ty customer service and has no plans to change it?

You sir, are FOOLISH!!!

EDIT: oops THANKS FOR BLOCKING ME! 😂😂😂

The first three threads in this section are about Wit's End, I think that says something.

And yes I have ordered form Joey many times. Thank you.

No time to respond to a customers inquiry but seems to have time to jump on MUD and re-iterate his s***ty service!

Lots of good points made in this thread on both sides especially when it comes to expectations. I am fairly new to the forum and to LC's having only owned mine for a little over a year. What I find is that there are a myriad of small vendors that sell either a few niche products or some that are trying to be "broadline distributors" that are one-stop shopping for all of your needs. Wits End has some really cool unique products that you can't find elsewhere and I placed an order for some of them a few weeks ago and received this email confirmation:

Please be aware that Wits' End is a very small shop run by one person doing many different things. Orders can be delayed for many, many reasons and your patience is appreciated.

Ok cool. No problem, I appreciate that the things I ordered may even have to be made to order. We all want to help the small guy and buy from people in our "community". Many of us look at Mud as a community we joined and try to contribute to as well as benefit from it. That being said I think it's also important to be cool to those members of that community because they can make or break your business.

But, I don't think I would order a belt or radiator hose from a vendor I know may take weeks to ship it out if I plan to do maintenance on my truck next weekend. And the only way I know who those vendors are is by doing my research on Mud. Maybe some of the small vendors need to take a step back and look at what they do best and just do that if they can't take on more. Reduce their inventory selection if they can't supply the product. I sell food and consult with restaurants for a living and it's the advice I give to all of my customers during these times. Make your menu smaller, sell only those products that you can obtain and make really well. It will only improve your reputation in the "community".
Also, over-communication and good customer service will overcome almost all other short-comings.

Ordered some much needed bushing press tools from Witt's End in mid-June which showed in stock. Looked great and was very excited. Credit card charged and awaited my order. After 3 weeks w/o any word, I sent an email to check in. No response. Been checking my spam box also. Another week, sent two more emails...one direct and one through website to see if he was still in business. No response. Then I get an email saying my order was cancelled. No communication. Now I get on Mud and find that he has a post indicating has just finished fabricated and shipping out the exact tools I need. Maybe I didn't make the cut or I am not a priority customer.

A little communication would go along way. Get back to people.
If you show something is in stock, that does not equal "I am taking orders". If you operate by taking bulk orders, fine, just be up front about it.

In summary, @NLXTACY held onto my money for a month, cancelled my order, and I still have a repair to do and could have gone another way with my purchase. I wanted to support a Mud vendor so much but this was pretty lame experience.
Agree 100% with your feedback. This dude is lame.

Maybe Wits End should do some cut and paste of Marks Page :) , he is a funny dude with an interesting angle on Customer Service and recognizes his limitations as a one man shop with plenty of stuff going on.

"Mark’s Off Road manages to get my bills paid, but it will probably never be a financial success as long as I am running it, because I will never dedicate the level of energy and commitment to it that it requires. "
