My LX570 owners Manuel does not call for the front, rear, differential fluid change or transfer case change until over 100k miles if you don't tow. Just wondering what other owners are doing?

I did my rear at 19k kms. But that's due to installing an auto locker. I'll check my owners manual, i think the gcc spec require at every 60k due to our environment

Guess I'll have the Lexus dealership do this, they quoted me $204 for frt.,rear and the diff. Based on what this Toyota lube costs, that's a great price. Having it done at 35k miles should then be good to 90k miles.

I just checked the manual it states to replace diff fluids every 40k kms and inspect the transfer + transmission. Although dealer here tends to replace gear + trans fluid on the major service in case the vehicles are used offroad and due to the high heat they're subjected to. If you still have your owners manual it should state the factory recomendation if not i think you can download it off the toyota website

My manual states that I never need to change unless I tow, have a roof top carrier, or go off road. If you do these things then your suppose to change every 15k miles.

I'm not towing or using at roof top carrier, but planning on changing break-in at 10K and then every 20K thereafter...

I was looking for some info from others on what they have done with the 200's and what they noticed during the changes and if anyone might of done a lube analysis. I did a bunch on my 100 series. Noticed the first changes were always the dirtiest. Then they were always clean looking up to about 60k miles and analysis indicated the lube could go a lot longer. Figured I might as well do the first one now. Since mine is a Mall cruiser it should be good for years. I always waited until 30k on my 100's for the first change to let everything break - in.

I did my at 30k miles

I service them pretty often at work and I would recommend to service them early. I notice alot of "junk" on the magnetic drain plugs at the 30k service. I would personally service them early.

When they come back for the 60k, the fluid looks great. Prob good for 50k+ miles after the inital change...

The owner's manual for my '08 LC calls for LT 75W-85 GL-5 or equivalent fluid for the front and rear differentials. I haven't checked my local dealer, but I've seen a bottle/can of the Toyota genuine fluid online running about $30. What's so special about this stuff and why is it worth the premium price over any top brand GL-5 fluid?

Oddly, only the diffs call for this special Toyota fluid. The transfer is good ol' SAE75W-90 GL-5.

I'm at 9,900 miles and was gonna do the inaugural diffs & t-case change with AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 Synthetic EP Lubricant at 10K. Is there any reason I shouldn't do that?
