Armrest Stuck in Up Position

The front passenger seat armrest is stuck in the up position. Any suggestions?

I feel like the IT guys asking "Is the computer plugged in".... but, did you move the arm rest all the up before trying to move it down?

If the arm rest is all the way up you will need to unzip the seat back cover and get inside to see what is going on.

try bending your arm at the elbow until your forearm points to the 12 o'clock position. you will find the arm rest will work fine.

Just pop the plastic cover and unbolt it. That should get you started and you should be able to fix it from there. Easy peasy.

Over the years I've asked "Is it plugged-in". 2 or 3 times I've gotten a pregnant pause on the phone.

Try taking the heel of your hand and hit the arm rest toward the back seat. As I'm sure you know, when you lower it, it goes down to the bottom and then as you raise it back up, it locks anywhere from the bottom until it's all the way up. Sounds like the spring latch is catching, if you bump/hit it hard enough it may move it enough to unlock the latch.
