Armrest mount cover/cap project

Hi all,

I recently bought a '98 100 and the adjustable armrests were pretty worn and dirty, so I decided to permanently remove them. I didn't find anything available to cover the mounting holes so I designed & 3D-printed my own.

Here's the end result:

The caps have a setscrew that threads into the existing mounting hole and teeth that 'ratchet' tight against the metal pin during installation. You can remove the caps later by gently pulling the edge away from the metal pin and unscrewing.

Here's what the seat looks like with the armrest removed. You can see the metal pin that engages the cap teeth.

Once sanded, painted & tightened they fit pretty well against the leather:

If anyone wants to make themselves a pair I'm happy to share the design file necessary to get them 3D printed, and recommend a reputable place or two. DM me if interested.

These cost me $64 shipped for the pair, plus $7 for the two M10-1.25x25 setscrews, and $5 for a can of spray paint. Better than living with this nastiness:

Thanks!

I couldn't live without my armrests but if you're gonna remove them this is the proper way! Nice work!
