Anyone has them on their cruisers - Yokohama Geolander A/TS -, just want to get some feedback on them.

I have a set on my 80. They perform great. I will buy a set for my Tundra when the OE tires wear out. They do really well in the rain. They wear like iron. I think I have close ot 45,000 miles on them and they still have about 30% tread left. On road they hum a little. Nothing bad. But it did get worse as they wore. Can't really comment on handling (they are mounted on a 80 after all). Offroad they do ok. In mud they don't have the lugs needed to dig and clean. In sand they float and steer very well. For the price I would suggest Yokohama tires to anyone. Also they have been balanced once ( and only took a little weight per tire) and have never needed to be rebalanced.

I had the older versions on my Dodge 1500. I liked them. Quite and lasted a long time.

Have a couple friends with the current versions on various vehicles. They have all been happy.

A great tire for someone more interested in road manors and snow performance. With occasional off road use.

Same as others here. Have a set of 285s on mine. I wanted a set of mild all-terrain tires, and these fit the bill as well as the price. I have about 8,000 miles on 'em with no noticeable wear. Deep lugs, very good traction on dry rock and gravel. I haven't had them in the mud because ih8mud, but they've been a great tire for me. I'd say they are one notch louder on a scale of 1-10 than the worn Michelin LTXs I had before - not bad at all...

I have a set of 285's on my 80, 5k on them since I bought them. Great treadwear warranty at 60k plus quiet on the hwy. I have been impressed with them in the light wheeling and wet pavement I have put them through, no comment yet on snow or mud as I haven't encountered that yet with these tires.

Anyone has any experienced on them with heavy snow. Don't plan on offroad with them at all.

Have had a set on my wife's Sante Fe. As mentioned earlier by most everyone, They are great tires. We have had them on for about 40k to 45k miles and I wouldn't doubt they would go past 65K. In the only snow we had (6 to 7 inches) they worked great. If they ever wear out I'll get another set for the wifey. :grinpimp:

I have a set of 285's on mine and find they work well in snow, rain and seem to be wearing well. I like them enough that I just bought another set for my F250 SuperDuty in 315's. :)

I had them on my last rig.
There a pavement tire, not great offroad.
They suck in snow in the 285 size. If your planning on keeping them as a highway tire in the winter switch to a full blown winter.

I have a set with about 5K on them in 285's. They have been great and I have taken them light off roading during hunting season and have performed well.

My friend has them on his Z71 in the same size and he has been very happy as well. I would highly recommend them from my experience.

Those are what I'm using now. They are good-value tires that will wear well and get you through most light off-road instances.

If your not going to wheel them I'd seriously consider these too. Nokian Vatiiva AT. Very good in the snow but not as affordable.

Thinking to get 275-70-16. We get fair amount of snow in winter, I want to make sure these tires will make it in nasty weather.

Got some mixed comments on them in rain, any idea why?

I have never had them.

With that said unless I was going to buy a mud tire I would not buy anything other than the BFG All Terrain KOs. Once I figured it out I have had them on every truck I have ever had unless I had Mud T/As and hands down they are the best all terrain you can buy in my opinion. Quite, smooth, and plenty agressive. I have evern put them on Subaru outbacks. I have a set on my Land Rover Discovery with abt 40K on them, never rotated, still smooth, quiet, and look new. Just put a set on my 91 Cruiser. They are proud of them $ wise but worth every penny at the end of the day!

Just my opinion.

Geolander AT-S Amazing

I am fairly new to the world of 80s i have had 4 sets of Geolander AT-s in the last few years and would not run anything else. As soon as my baby needs new shoes that will be what it gets. I first ran the Geolander on a 1994 Chevy Silverado 2wd and lived in the country in northeast MO drove 6 miles of creek gravel each day plust min. of 15 miles to nearest town tires had 80,000 on them when i sold the truck and the teenager that bought the truck called and said he was pissed cause his parents wouldnt buy him tires till they were wore out. Said he couldnt hardly burn them off.
Next I ran them on a 1999 Chevy Silverado 4wd driving same road and replaced them at 75,000 due to running a piece of rebar through the side wall and went ahead and put a new set on them. The next set only had 20,000 when i sold truck and the purchaser thanked me for putting brand new tires on it for him :p.
My Dad drives a 2002 3/4ton chevy and pulls a 30' fifth wheel frequently he put a set on about 35,000 miles and still have atleast 50% tread and drives same road conditions as me.
As far as in the snow we have ran numerous different tires for the snows that we get here and due to our limited maintenance on our local roads always wanted snow tires to put on in the winter. But not after we found the geolander. My 2 wheel drive never had a problem driving in anytype of snow.
I would definately be willing to vouch for Geolanders, not to mention my tire guy gets pissed anyways due to the fact of how few of tires i buy from him but after purchasing them from him the second time and he saw how many miles i got out of them thats now what he and his two employees run on there pickups.

My go to A/Ts for all around use and friends that have installed them on my recommendation really like them to. As has been mentioned, not great offroad but value-wise, tough to beat for the price and availability and general usage. If you know you won't be wheeling with them much and expect to see snow and rain use, you might consider having them siped which noticeably improves wet condition traction.

I have them in a 315/75-16 on my 80. What everyone else says is true. They are a good tire but in mud the don't clean out. Everything else they are really good, I'm surprised at how well they wear!

Got one going bad

Well after saying how great these tires are. I went out this morning and found a tire with low pressure. No problem I thought. Well after looking at the tire, the tread is separating. I have cracks developing on the sidewall of the tire. Not good. I will post pics this evening of that is happening. You guys might wanna keep an eye on yours.

Great tire for all around use!

I've been very happy with these tires. 23,000 miles rotated and ballanced two times and very light wear. I've had much more aggressive mud tires and better off road tires but these are a very strong performer for all around light 4 x 4 offroad use. They do great in the snow and sand. If you are driving correctly and not like a race driver. I've found they do seem to clog with mud.
Good luck
