I live in Simi, and took my LX450 to K&H Imports in Canoga Park right after purchasing it for a complete run-through. They are a Land Cruiser specialty shop, and would be able to do a PPI. Always a bunch of 80's in their lot.

I am a little north of you. I have been bringing all my trucks down to Basil's garage in North SD. He and his crew do great work and have fair prices . They also love 80's

Another thumbs up for the X2. I have been running them for the past few years in all my vehicles. I really like them. They have zero issues, on the real cold (-20) mornings in MT starting up.

I’ve been using a group 27 X2 Power battery with good results for the starter battery. The last one lasted about 5 years. I hear there are new lithium iron phosphate batteries that are capable of starting and can draw 90% of total capacity...

HI everyone and greetings from the west of Ireland. New to the group and just after buying a ‘95 VXL, an upgrade from my other weekend toy, a Mk1 pajero. She hasn’t really been on the road since 2009 but stuck in a couple of batteries and fired...

Whenever I see someone who's put those #$@%^*&!!! LEDs into an older headlamp housing that were originally designed for incandescent (filament) bulbs I follow them home, wait until things are quiet, pull a hammer out of my tool bag, sneak up to...

Congratulations! I have the same rig, that I picked up last Dec. Looks like the same color too, 1A5 Desert Dune Pearl. I just did my knuckles and am very glad I did. Look at Cruiser Outfitters for reliable parts. Have fun.

yes, the truck does look very good stock. it is going to change. Nothing too crazy, but tasteful IMO. First going to tackle some basic maintenance.

I might be switching my Tire order after reading this thread. I have always loved and used skinny tires on my trucks. I thought a wider tire might do better on the 80 b/c of its bigger profile.

Here’s my truck on the 255s and back on the refurbished factory alloys. Definitely looks more stock-like than before. Tires seem to fill out the wheel wells nicely from the side. I have a 1” body lift, but the springs (2.5” OME) are old and...

I drive my dad’s stock 2uz 04 tundra sometimes when doing maintenance, and that thing is an absolute race car & so smooth. I have to remember to feather the pedal, or I’m flying off the line.

I am running 315/75R16 on the stock wheels with stock gearing. Gas mileage is about 13 mpg. On the flats there is plenty of power for me, but with any moderate grade, you notice it right away. It's more of an issue on the highway than in town...

With all do respect If you’re running anything more then fire roads 37 are not fine with stock gear !! Having run 35s 37s and now 39s I speak from experience 😉 Cheers

I had two sets of them in 315 and liked them a lot. Yes, the sidewall is very thin.

Mine came from the PO with 285x75x16's on the 2" OME lift...a little skinny and tucked in my opinion, so I bumped up to the 315x75x16 on the stock 8" wheels and couldn't be happier. That said, I'm on a 4.56 re-gear too from the PO, so I can't...

I run 35's with stock gears and it's "OK" in Colorado. Lots of time spent wailing on it in 2nd gear, but it keeps up with traffic reasonably well. I'd say go with the bigger 285/75r17 size (assuming you've already got 17" wheels). If you're...

I am thinking the best option will be the 285/70/17.
