emlem on the liftgate?

I went through the process of de-bliniging yesterday and got the V8, Toyota, Land and Crusier emblems off. But I had a little trouble with the symbol next to the wiper. I went ahead and painted the ones I got off and reinstalled them. I'll finish up next weekend.

BTW, I used fishing line instead of dental floss. The floss seemed to break too easily.

What test fishing line and did you heat the emblems with a hair dryer or similar device for easier removal?

I pulled the line from my Surf rod, so I think it's around 20 lb line. It still broke a few times, but the floss broke a lot easier. I ddin't use heat. The residual adhesive is a real bitch to get off. I used a wire wheel on my drill to get it off the emblems.

That one have 3 locating pin. Newer 2003 and up LAND CRUISER emblem have a few locating pins also.

You might consider blacking out that silver bracket for the trailer wring as well...

The trailer wiring is a temporary fix, that will come off soon. I painted the emblems with a can of charcoal metalic that I picked up at autozone.

Did you repaint the front emblem also? What did you use to reapply your emblems?

Yes, painted the front emblem with the same color. I re-applied them with 3M Emblem adhesive. I used a small amount from the huge tube it comes in.

Me too, Longhorn, your's sounds like a twin to mine, Jade green mica with gold emblems, funny how when I first got the LC they didnt bother me, but now dem gold bling emblems gotta go, dey not so "fly" anymore......

Decided to do something about the gold emblems. Never been a big fan. Here is the progress.
I went with Graphite Grey Metallic with an added clear coat for a little more gloss.

I finally decided to go ahead with my idea to mount the trailer wiring harness in the bumper. Now I won’t drag that thing off anymore. I used the metal bracket it was mounted to, to give me something screw in to. Work real well, IMO.

I believe it was less than $100 for all of them including the front they were all gold before
