ARB OME Kits

A few years ago I wrote to ARB in Australia and they said the light duty springs are meant as a factory replacement to improve the ride.

Ya she is aware.... thats why I was looking into the medium duty kit.... more then likely that is the route I am going to take and pray the sway bars help with leaning during turns or crazy swaying during highway driving, and nose diving during braking.

How much stink bug do you like on your cruisers? I guarantee if you put OME medium front springs on a 62 you will end up with quite a bit of forward rake. The medium springs just don't work on a 62.

well that sucks.... Then whats my best choice to make? I do want to go with OME... but have to make the :princess: happy too....

Ok.... I just asked her again and she is ok going with a 3.5" lift and 33's.........

So then the Heavy springs would be ok to use and not have the nose dive or feel like your going to roll your cruiser on turns?

Heavy/Heavy OMEs are still a lot nicer ride than worn out stock stuff. I'm talking the whole enchilada...springs, greasable shackles, bushings, spring pins, shocks, steering stabilizer. She will like it. You will get POINTS!

Right now I have that priced out at 1120usd shipped to my door. It is the full meal deal.

Also I have a brand new set of 35's that I was going to put on my FJ55 with a 4" lift. They clear nicely on the 55. Right now the pig in being torn down for some repairs. How would these fit on the FJ62 with the Heavy OME lift? Anyone have pics?

$1120.00? Is that for the complete OME Heavy Kit w/ shackles, pins, shocks, U-bolts, bushings, steering stabilizer....everything.....shipped? Where did you get that price? I'm looking to order my kit in the next few days.

I will have to check to make sure it is everything.

I put the light kit on my fj62 but it has the 3b/h55f in it..aka bj62. The ride is awsome compared to the worn factory set-up. It is higher in the as than the front. Does not bother me...NO LEAN...perfectly level from side to side.
Ride was important to me...I do take it off-road but not hard core...works just fine...your wife will be very happy with the ride.
By the way the 3b/h55f is as heavy as the 3fe...probably a little heavier.

The kit came from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters...highly recommend him

Cool.. thanks for the input.

I know when I spoke with ARB a few years back about the different weights they told me the lite duty kit was meant as a factory upgrade and not to expect any real lift. It was to improve the ride quality on and offroad but remain stock height.

I have to say that I am now considering going with Alcans. I have these on my Pig and love them. It improved the ride over stock and flexes very well offroad. It doesnt noise dive any different then stock and there is hardly any body roll in turns. I am running Old Man Emu shocks on the rear and bilsteins on the front.

So for now I have both the OME and Alcans on the table.

Were you able to figure out what is included for the $1120? I'm ichin' to order the kit!!

Are the Alcans comp to the OME? I've had some experience with them on Jeeps, but I have not had experience with the OME. Just seems like whoever has the OME's is extremely happy with them.

I still havent heard anything. But the price quote was from Jackit.com

They qouted me 1075usd shipped. When I spoke with them about 5 or 6 years ago the complete kit with everything including was just over 1200usd minus the shipping. At that time I made sure it was a complete kit. Thats why I went back to them and asked because at that time they had the best price in the States for a complete heavy duty kit.

I called Alcan yesterday and they were really nice. The price for the springs and bushings was 870.00. They will make them any way you want them. I am only looking for a little so I think I am going to stay with OME heavy/heavy. Has anyone seen a killer price on that kit?

I'm new to the cruiser scene, but has anyone ever explored if Kurt will do a group buy? Seems like alot of guys are looking to get OME kits.

Given that the kits aren't a one-off product, would be going all over the country, and are likely drop-shipped, I doubt there would be any significant savings for a "group buy".
