As I was getting ready to wire up the indicator lights in the ARB I found this and was wondering who all has done this and if it is still holding up and not melting the lenses....this post was old so I was just curious...also will the #67 bulbs fit into the ARB plugs or do I need to buy new ones? Here is the post I found:

ARB bull bar directional lamp hookup --
If I remember right ... it was replace the #1156 bulb w/ a #67 (so it won't melt reflector), blue bumper wire to green on corner light, brown bumper wire to green wire on blinker light.

Then you have marker and blinker?

If you want both marker and blinker you need to change the socket to a dual element and use a #1157. The ARB OEM socket is only single element. If you are going for marker lights in the ARB the the #1156 to much brighter than the factory marker. In order to match the brightness of the factory marker you will need to lamp down.

#67 6.9w
#89 6.8w
#93 12.3w
#1141 15.6w
#1156 21.2w

Hey Mooker - what I posted above does work ... it's how I (and many others on the board) wired mine ;)

tucker - you calling BS on Phil's claim above? Just curious or are you saying you'd have to follow his outline?

Yes it will work by picking up the grd thru the lamp but the brightness will not match and the timing of the two lamps blinking are not the same. It all about the bling.

Mooker was quoting a response I had made to someone else’s post from a while back - the "replace the #1156 bulb w/ a #67 (so it won't melt reflector), blue bumper wire to green on corner light, brown bumper wire to green wire on blinker light" method will produce the desired effect (marker and blinker).

The brightness it negligible ... but you are correct on the counter blinking w/ the running lights on (otherwise it's right) - and a dual lamp would correct this. It just doesn't bother me that much :D

So is this right:
1.) Run a #67 bulb with one ran to blinker + and the other to marker + and get both turn signals and marker lights that wont melt but I will get the "disco light" affect.

2.)If i hack the ARB harness off and go to an 1157 would I wire it as mentioned above or would I run a + to blinker + and a blinker - to blinker - and do the same for the markers?

3.) If I hack the ARB harness and run an 1157 would this melt the lenses and would it be overly bright like LandCruiserPhil says about the 1156?

Anyone know what size the stock wires are? 14? 16? 18?
