Will be ordering a rear arb air locker shortly, and wondered if any of you had recommendations on where I could get it installed. I live in Tucson, so that would be the most convenient location, but am willing to make the trek to phoenix as well. Would a place like Desert Rat be out the question?

Don't go to Western differential. I won't spell it all out here, but I haven't heard good stories.

Last I heard Zuk won't do 80's (thats what I heard anyway) and he doesn't work in the summer.

I had mine done at my friends shop. He has done a number of things on my 80 and he has 2 other regular customers with 80's so he is quite familiar with them. Calypso Automotive 326-5358 central Tucson.

4Wheel Parts in Phx did my 100 and my LX (incl regear). I have MANY Rover buddies who have used Western and without incident. If I need future service I'll try them. I've had it with going to Phx for this crap.

Thanks Alvin! I talked to Jim on the phone today and he quoted me $550 for the whole install. This seems like a reasonable price to me. It sounds like he takes his time and will do a good job. I ordered my arb locker and compressor today, so it should be arriving end of next week! I'll keep ya posted when I get it all in and at Jim's shop.

Yeah, he told me he talked to you. He's pretty good about his "off the top of his head" quotes. If he said 550, more than likely it will end up pretty close to that. He did mine for a bit more, but that included front and rear gears on top of the front ARB. He's the only person (besides myself) I let work on my rig.

Hey Alvin, does he mess with 55's also. I've got a friend who has some electrical (ingnition) problems. Thanks.

He works on anything. His hobby and passion is 4wheel. He's had anything in there from 50's Pontiacs to new Impalas on 22's to dually'd work trucks and pretty much everthing else you can think of.
His shop is right next to mine, so I end up over there all the time just to shoot the breeze.

Thanks, probably going to see a blue and white piggy over there in the near future.
He's got to get a car hauler first, He lives near Elfrida.

Don't suppose he does house calls..:D

Well, I just got back from dropping off the cruiser with Jim at calypso! Seems like a really nice guy. He said it should be done by thursday, so I am pumped. I asked him if you were still in Alvin, and I guess you had gone home a little earlier. I will be going back in tomorrow to drop off the compressor bracket, so maybe I will drop in and say hi at your shop.

I wish I could get out, but I will also be installing new radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, and hoses etc. this weekend....

Sorry for the delay, but it was nice meeting you the other day Alvin. I hope to get out and do some wheelin with ya sometime!

Zuk said he'd do mine if I sent him my 3rd but he won't work on it until his garage temps go below 90*!!
