ARB 03+ question...

I haven't set it yet, any spacing recommendations?

It's a known issue that you will have slightly more than normal gap with a 03+ ARB on a 98-02 LC. I would say from the pics those gaps are acceptable.

Trunk mentioned vibration, also keep in mind when off road the bumper will surprisingly flex more than you think. Having some gap will give room for the bumper to move.

ARB recommended 15MM. I had mine like that before I pinned it and it looked hideous. So reduced mine to 8MM and no fender contact at any speed.

Only picture I could find right now. Hope it helps. If I find another I'll post it for you.

Appreciate all of the insight. I'm going to target about 10mm or so for the gap. I'll finish pinning it up in the am.

Any idea what the bumper to headlight gap is for an 03+ LC with an 03+ combo bar? Is it flush? I love the look and functionality of the bumper but have to admit the gap bugs me. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Another shot.

Finished mine today also!

Total install time: 2.5 hrs

I am running 10mm gap on both sides. Before you mount the bumper up onto the accordion mounts, let one of the mounts have some sort of slack. Place a ATV jack or jack stand under that mount for safety precautions. Aligning the bumper is easier if one of the sides is loose. After you get the bumper on, tighten down all the bolts on the frame mount then align your bumper with your choice of gap. I could have gotten this done within an hour/hour and a half if I did not take a nap:D

As far as drilling holes into the frame, I used a 1/2" drill bit(as stated earlier by Kurt)

For reference on the gap...Also, the height dint change in the front, but the ride is s***(comparison in pic 2 and 3)

The way you like to get yourself stuck you're going to need 2 :D

BTW.... One of my ARB 10 mm pinning bolts exploded on me, throwing bolt, washer, and wrench shrapnel everywhere. Good thing my safety glasses were sitting on top of my head...doh! Be careful not to overtighten.

Safety goggles at all time...I bought ones that fully enclose the eyes rather than the ones that look like sunglasses, much safer and worth it IMO. Also, I broke one of the ARB bash guard bolts. The unstructions saying "tightehn until washer deforms" really helps:bang:
