Any 25% off discount codes or group buys coming up. Have a trip coming up in May and am wanting to get an Iceco fridge.
Unfortunately i did not read this til now, which I am guessing is too late.

@chudly if you were in NC I would do that for ya, as I have tried both a TR60 and VL45 and am happy with both! And not random as is this the best thread on mud for asking that, you’re good bud.

For everyone else, there will be another GB planned for first week of June (2 weeks from now), and it is expected to go for 7 days. The discount will be 25% off via our Mud coupon, applicable at icecofreezer.com.

Anyone with questions can leave it here and I will be glad to answer any that I can. I will try to cover the basics when making the literature; like weight, size and other differences between GO and TR (formerly JP) and VL models. We have many mud members with IceCo fridges that can pitch in and help as well (thanks!) so don’t be shy!

@CowboyTaco im going to make some literature, including the price list for mud. Do you want me to make one for TacomaWorld as well, and have you as the contact? I’ll be live most of today so you can stop by the stream/discord (free voice/video app for meetings and etc) and chat if you’d like. We only get 2 weeks to prepare and 1 week of discount this time, so I’ll try to make the most of it.

Title has been updated to reflect date of next GB.

Been lurking for a while but registered today to say thanks for this. I'll be ordering.

What is meant by "TR (formerly JP)"? There are still JP and no TR I can see on icecofreezer.com.

Thanks for organizing this! We'll absolutely be jumping on this group buy. So the VLPro5S will be available with this discount? This guy:

Yes, the VLs will be included with this GB! They are some of the most popular which makes them some of the most readily available.

@pitonix The JPs and TRs are very similar, with the TR being the newer version. From what i understand the JP line will be discontinued, but there is enough of them for you to still be able to snag good deals if you look around. Main difference between the two is that the TRs come with wheels. As far as internal components and build quality, they look pretty similar. I had the pleasure of running the TR60 for a bit and don't let the plastic construction fool you, they are very durable! Also less likely to get dented in shipping (VL/metal plating problems).

I have to say i really like the wheels, and even considered modding it to have bigger wheels! Especially at 60 Liters, these things can be quite heavy once filled. That's the biggest argument for going JP/TR vs VL, is that it's easier to take one out of the car/haul around vs the other; the TR even has reversible lid that can be opened from both sides (not sure on JPs), so you can access it from just about anywhere. That's assuming the GO series are just too small for you.

Thank you SharpeCat! I’ve been on the fence of buying a cheap Massimo or a pricier Dometic this past week for a planned summer 8000 mile road trip. Leaving on June 12th. If you think I could have one delivered by then I’ll definitely wait. I really like the Iceco’s

If it's one of the popular models then i highly doubt that will be an issue. I will have more info on this/possibly get an earlier order date for some of you, just not all. I want to keep things simple for them by having most of us order via website/coupon, during the week that the coupon is active. For the few who have strict deadlines please keep us/me updated on them so i can try my best to assist.

Also really appreciate everyone's feedback/taking the time to share!

I had decided on the JP40 over the VL45 due to the weight difference. Any specs available on the TR series? I'm still a bit surprised this series doesn't feature on their website.

Okay I'm sold on the JP/TR's! Do you know if the new TR's come with the insulated covers? I do love that about the JP's, but I'd rather not buy a unit that is being discontinued.

Internal components are very similar on them (compressor and electronics) so i wouldn't discard it if the wheels/reversible lid isn't a big deal; with the right discount the JP can still come out on top as "best bang for your bucks". If same discount/similar prices, then i'd go with newer model for sure (TRs are available at walmart as of recently, which is a sign that they will be around for a while). Although, even when discontinued i don't imagine it will be difficult to get replacement parts and etc for the JP, as there are a ton of them & they share major components with the newer models.

As far as bags go, I have to double check. Most likely i will have 1 price with bag and 1 without bag when i do the price list. Will post when done/when i know for sure.

So far all i have is a draft for the first page; soon I'll work on a separate page to give more details on each series/models, as well as another page that is purely a price sheet. If time allows before it goes live, i will try to make a side by side comparison as well to help some of you decide. So far i am told that the discount will apply to everything, and they will update me if anything is to be excluded from discount; i will update then. I was also told that most of the items from site are in stock/ready to go out day of order, but a few may need up to 2-3 weeks to ship; basically what i expected judging from previous GBs. They said popular fridges like VLs are high stock/fast shipping and some of the less popular stuff are vice versa. If you have strict deadlines it is good to double check/give us a heads up first to make sure.

Again, really appreciate the interest and feedback so far! Thanks!

Thanks for all of the help! Last question! Will this be good for just fridges? Or will the discount count towards slides as well?

Anyone familiar with these units upgrade their power? I'm looking at the 60 or 75Dual fridge. Do I need to upgrade my 130amp alternator or think about a dual battery if I'm running that fridge for a few weeks of the road trip? I'm in a 2005 LX470 with stock alternator.

I have vl 60 dual zone, no need to upgrade alternator. You will need a better plug for the power outlet in the cargo area. 12v lighter plug isn't holding well. I did wire Anderson plug from back of the lighter plug to the fridge.

This setup held well over 100 washboard miles

I finally got to try my JP40 at camp! Im running and autozone 24F wet cell battery and it held up pretty good! Parked the car around 3:30pm and it started at 7am no problem!

I also installed the ARB outlet and it worked flawlessly! 100% recommend!
