Thanks to this thread, and the good work of folks like @SharpeCat, I purchased an Iceco VL60 today, taking advantage of the Amazon Prime Day 25% discount.
I’m excited to get and use the fridge, but would like to also source an insulated cover for it.
Does anybody know where I can get an Iceco bag, for that model? I’m finding their bags for other models but not the VL 60.
Thanks...

Thanks for that bud, much appreciated!

My advice is to send Lu a text along with order number, and ask him to call you to take payment once they become available. You can also pray for a dent big enough to justify a free cover, while not compromising performance lol. I’m jk.

Other than that, I would check their site every once in a while to see if more gets added. They were backed up during last GB as well, but it seems more is just a container from China away.

Third option, if you feel like tackling a DIY, @grinchy has made his own cover that is very effective!

I’m really surprised Lu hasn’t asked me to stop sharing his number but here you go lol. Good luck bud!

Oh bummer.. I missed that Prime day sale. What's the best to keep track of upcoming Iceco discounts?

just be patient hah. if i were to guess Black friday will most likely have the same deals.

on a side note. Bluetti failed to deliver on 10/12/2020 for the AC50S... date changed to next month :/

My AC50s shipped today and is supposed to be delivered next Wednesday. I've seen a few good deals on solar generators and solar panels but I'm not sure if sharing here is allowed. I got $100 dollars off on a smaller solar generator, 296wh/350w/700w peak and regulated 12DC output for $185 shipped. It even has a stronger converter than the bluetti. This deal was on for a few days on amazon, not part of prime day.

hm i wonder if its a good product overall (life time usage)

Its too late though, ive already made my purchase for the AC50s a few weeks back. My uncle got his shipping confirmation as well.. i guess i was just too late for the first batch :(

Share away brother, and thanks in advance! Many of us are in the same boat, and trying to figure out a good way to power our fridges and make the most of our money.

If anyone is looking for foldable solar panels, paxcess is having a sale on their 120w panels. Coupon code DM20 or NEWLY on their website. I haven't tried the coupons for their other products.

Easiest way is to peek the title.

Anyone can share iceco deals here and I will update the title to point our members in the direction.

I’m honestly happy with seeing any deals that mudders can benefit from, but we do try to keep it mostly iceco related. Things like power banks and solar panels are very relevant, and there are so many out there that we all could use some help in picking out the best bang for our bucks.

I am trying out the Big Blue foldable 100w panel ($140) this month, because it was on sale and hits the few check marks I had (parallel capable, foldable, comes with cable to charge battery directly, has US phone number for customer service - although based in China).

There were quite a few others on there I wanted to try though, and I do want to pick up 1 more at some point. This one will hold me off until the right deal comes along; same with the Jackery 160, which I plan on upgrading to something with DC pass through charging.

My longish-term goal is to find someone who would be willing to work together with IceCo for a special deal for mud: A package deal for “Endless Refridgeration” that is basically a panel, fridge, and power bank combo (Minimalist version). The panel will be compatible with the power bank, so no need for a charge controller or Inverter (I just use a smart charger/maintainer to connect the power bank to battery, and panel charges bank while bank charges car battery).

The idea is to get mud even better prices by getting a package deal discount, in addition to group purchase discount.

So, please feel free to share away, as I am looking for ideas on what to recommend to future members. By the time this is all said and done, we all would have collectively spent months thinking about this, and the goal is to save future members from that; by breaking it down to a simple package deal for them.

If someone told me at the start of all this that I can just get certain fridge, panel and bank combo, that I could have reliable endless refridgeration (as long as sun comes out) for under $1000, and that I could just spend the months of time doing what I love instead of researching through hundreds of products... well I would be hella grateful, to say the least. Thanks to what everyone is doing here, we may just be able to spare future members from that.

I see some discussion on battery banks.

While 12V regulated is generally important if you are running AGM or even LION batteries, most LIFEPO4 batteries voltages are such that it may not be that important (and worth paying for the efficiency drop).

There are easy ways to make large LIFEPO4 battery banks. I've been running my iceco cooler in transit using a box I built myself

Plano Box : Amazon.com : Plano 1612 Deep Water Resistant Field Box with Lift Out Tray : Fishing Tackle Boxes : Sports & Outdoors 17.00

2x16ah LIFEPO4 batteries: https://amzn.to/3dgair8 50.00x2

Charger. - https://amzn.to/3iWIqtq. 32.50 with coupon

Cig Adapter. - Amazon.com: BANDC Waterproof Marine Car Power Socket Cigarette Lighter Plug Auto Truck 12v Rear Panel: Sports & Outdoors. 8.00

You need perhaps some spade connectors and some small sections of wire -- but to be honest, it will last longer than many of the standard solar generators. Especially if you are running 12v applications.

There are some videos which outline this approach. I can pass them along if you like. I've been using mine for my iceco while travelling and it works fantastic.

I have those same batteries you mentioned above in a very small pelican case. They work really well and use them for charging cameras etc. But I also am building a 3600 watt solar generator that my fridge runs off on etc. Gallery here

Holy cow. That’s going to be a beast system!

Update regarding my VL60 Dual zone.

Still havent received any update or response on the power panel.. it appears the customer support, or lack thereof, issue is still prevalent and still behind compared to other brands i assume. BAD.

After a few days of usage (i left it at work) cycling the temperatures from 0, 32, 40, and so forth on each side, ive confirmed everything is functional!. GOOD.

I was able to freeze a bottle of water overnight too. GOOD.

I then took the fridge home keeping both chambers set to 0 F since i knew i was going to be putting in some drinks to keep cool for a party we were having at home. I plugged in the fridge and loaded it up with beer, sparkling water, and regular water that were baking in my garage (90f and over 50 drinks with plenty more room)... The PID on the fridge stayed around 60-65F for awhile before making its way down to my preset of 34F. I dont know the exact time but if you leave the fridge on overnight with food/beverages they will reach an equilibrium. Knowing this if i were to head out on a camping trip i will prechill the fridge + contents overnight at home before loading it into my GX470 to save battery.

I tried to power the fridge with my uncles BALDR battery however for some reason the 12V plug did not work. AFter the compressor kicked on the battery would shut off. We suspect the draw of the Dualzone is much higher than what the BLADR was rated at since his smaller camping 35qt fridge works fine. Fortunately the inverter worked fine.. Fridge be acting SUS.

Overall so far so good minus the bent af panel.

I got my AC50s on Saturday. Started my test run (fully charged) yesterday at 10am and it died out 1pm today. Temp was steady at 36* and 38* for my dual 65L. I set both compartments at 38*. Inside truck temp is probably around the 80s in the back of my truck. It has been on the warm side here in SoCal. On Sunday I ran it with the solar panel from 10am to 4pm from a completely drained battery, same environment and had a 30-40% charged battery. Overall, I think I'm pretty happy with the setup. I might pick up another solar panel to charge it faster since we will not be getting the kind of sunlight we've been having. This way I can have the solar charger fully charged by the end of the day. Another note, this panel seems to be quite nice. I was getting in the mid to upper 90s watt from the panel. It was clear blue sky though. Also, in the evening, the AC50s shows the iceco pulling 0 watt at times. Not sure what to make of that other than the fridge was on but compressor wasn't running. At start, the fridge would be pulling 45-50 watts with compartment fridge temp at around 55*.

Thanks for the honest and quality feedback boys.

The 0 watt idle is normal, and it means compressor is off and means you’re on DC power. I was surprised at first as well but after a few tests it proved not to be a fluke.
