Yeah 4 seems about standard; I have seen up to 6 below. It deviates more when cooling than when it’s losing temp, as in if you set it at 41 it can go as low as 35 but I’ve never seen it above 44 before compressor kicks in; that’s observations for TR and I assume others will behave similarly. Compressor can cut off and it can change an additional degree afterwards.

The Jackery (167wH capacity, DC power) is down to its last 1 percent (I did watch 1% last over an hour in idle mode earlier) and has lasted over 26 hours so far...(yeah it’s been a long livestream) that’s average of less than 6.5 wHs per hour to keep it around 41 degrees. That’s crazy... 3 times as long as the same test but at 20 degrees setting instead. I will test this with AC, then test DC again to make sure it isn’t a fluke, and if it isn’t then one of my next project is to find the minimalist power bank/solar panel combo needed to keep this thing running indefinitely (assuming 8 hours average sunlight each day).

Official time is 26 hours 10 mins for 41 degree setting and using DC power, for the Jackery 160 which has a 167wH capacity. Average consumption during this time is about 6.4 continuous watts. That's impressive!! My Endless breeze fan uses more than that even on the lowest setting, and that's a very efficient fan. My ARB LED Light strip uses more than that... (amber light mode brightest setting is 21 Watts continuous, but it can go as low as 1 watt for dimmest setting in white light mode).

Also i did text Lu an hour ago to see if TR will be ready this weekend and have not heard back yet, i will keep checking for the members who are waiting on the Coupon Extension. Will keep everyone posted on that.

Update on my damaged Iceco VL60. I received the replacement lid yesterday. It is in excellent condition. The packaging was not exactly in good condition, but all that mattered was that the lid is undamaged. Iceco had refunded me $40 for the body dent that couldn’t be fixed, which I was willing to accept. I do hope that Iceco changes their packaging design in the future and offer more protection of their product. Not coincidently, I ordered the Jackery Explorer and that thing was inside 3 boxes!

I have my VL35 out on a camping trip for a few days. Powered by a LIFEPO4 30ah pack I made. Running fine. I do see that the middle and sides are cold. They absolutely have less insulation. The corners are better insulated

I finally turned on my JP50 today. Mine is making a sort of whistling noise. Is this normal? I've seen reviews mentioning how quiet these fridges are but mine is far from quiet. The noise also becomes louder when i open the lid.

Can you get us a short video? My TR is louder than my VL but it's still very quiet. The Whistling noise does not ring a bell.

I have my generator running tonight so mic is off, and i'm about to begin the livestream for AC test at 41 degrees; after that's over i can plug it into the building and get you a video with the mic on for comparison. Maybe someone else can chime in with a JP, since i actually have a TR.

I also forgot to mention that it's taking a really long time to get to below 40 degrees. It's been almost three hours and it's still at 43 degrees. In the hobotech review I saw the jp40 got to 30 in just 43 minutes.

No, that does not sound normal. Can you do me a favor and text that to Lu and ask him if he has any idea? Even if he doesn't, he's the person best equipped to handle this. Can someone with an Expandable chime in and confirm that it isn't normal?

For what it's worth i thought it may have sounded like a loose fan, and google search agrees!

Another guess is to look for a tiny hole where the noise is the loudest, to check for a small leak. It sounded like a little bit of clunking too, which is another reason i thought it was a loose fan.

But i honestly would recommend asking the experts (ICECO).

I don't really think it's fan related because the noise it's not at the fan location. It seems to be coming from the walls of the fridge and sounds louder inside. I'll text the number tomorrow to see what they say.

Ha! This time we took out the popup. It’s a 96 coleman. That’s why there is so much room. I still have a bunch of work to do in it but the electrical is 80% done. Still need to get the solar and some dc distribution done for usb and PD charging. Also need to put the bigger 280ah lifepo4 in that.

Definitely not normal. Sounds like the compressor is struggling. Is it possible that it wasn't on a flat surface for 10 hours before you powered it on? I'm guessing not, but wanted to ask since I've read that it should be stored in the upright position on a flat surface for at least 10 hours before starting it.

My JP 40 took almost 2 hours to reach freezing the first time I powered it on. I turned it off and let it sit for a while (few days) because I didn't want to be cooling nothing. I powered it on yesterday using the Jackery Explorer 1000 on AC power and it got down to 32 degrees in just under an hour.

I doubt it will do anything, but I would recommend turning it off and allowing it a day to "settle" and powering it back on.

I read about this so I left it a whole week on a flat surface. I'll turn it off today a leave it off today but, as you wrote, I highly doubt it'll do anything.
