Lets get this $&!T started. I leave for a month so sadly I won't get to give much input to this event and we are running out of time really fast. I would love to help more and plan it out but as noted I will be in the damn desert for the next month. When I get back it is not even 4 weeks until the biggest event of the year.

I know there is a lot that goes into this and it is hard to make everyone happy.

I'm all for camping in Frisco the whole time or in Corrola it doesn't matter to me. But we need to figure out who would be in on a house if we get one in Corrolla and it probably needs to be in the next 30-45 days. Cash has to be put down and it solidified in advance in case there is nobody else interested we have time to plan otherwise.

I'm also for starting out at the furthest point south and working our way north but with a few people trailering the costs for ferry's can add up quick.

My $.02 would be stay in Frisco (that place fills up quick and we want the big group spot by the lagoon) for the first part and then maybe spend the last couple of days up in Corolla. That way we get a little different scenery. We are heading up on the 21st to most likely stay in Frisco and relax until everyone gets there.

I'm sure the board has been secretly putting this together in the closed thread above but time to open this baby up.

Yeah, you've been gone awhile.... and all you needed to do was ask for permission, in 2009!

STR is no longer then biggest ONSC event of the year. We've replaced it with the Cruisin' Carolina event in the Fall. Had too many scheduling conflicts with GSMTR, and not a lot of the local groups wanted to partake in our activities. So, we decided to go the opposite way and go back to the roots and keep it lowkey and hush hush... It's now a club ride, no sponsors, and just fun... invite only...

We'll let Cruisin' Carolina be the big ride, lots of sponsors, trail riding. Can't hit sponsors up twice a year and expect them to put up quality swag at both...

General consensus is staying at Frisco for the entire trip, and make the usual trip up North. Pay the fee the Park Service wants, and show our support by not changing our habits... Other than that, when Frisco opens March 15th, book your spot and everyone will be there...

Oh yeah, WindFest is the same weekend.

Artwork is already done, was going to roll it out at meet and greet but forgot... It's coming...

The closed thread that anyone can ask for access to if wanted??? that one ;)
Not the biggest event anymore.
Dates have been up for over a month now.
After talking privately with many at the meet and greet the plan is to leave it in Frisco woods and as always is the plan let people do what they want. One day... most likely friday will hold the trip up to the state line.
Everyone will be responsible for making their own reservations at Frisco woods but they don't open till March 15th for that, so we saw no big rush since there is almost a month for that still.
Artwork is done, and will be sent off for T-shirts shortly.
That is all

Cool...hook me up to that thread than please. I thought it was a BOD only thread.

Staying in Frisco the whole time sounds good to me. My wife and I love that place and as long as the weather is good could easily stay there all week. I'll have Deirdre call them on the 15th then and reserve us a spot. The drive up for a day to check out the light houses and everything else will be fun as well.

Any chance we are able to work anything out to go ride up there and check out the horses on the back side of Corolla?

I'm on the ONSC website, trying to RSVP. Just asked off! I'm psyked!!!! But I cant figure out where to sign up and stuff!

I missed those "private" conversations at the Meet & Greet, oh well...

Ya left without saying good bye and never had a chance to get to you:doh: You were the main one I wanted to talk to about it but you disappeared on me.

As with everything on mud you need to go to your user CP and ask for permission.

Instructions are on the link in the second post.

Yes, this was originally posted in 2009, so it's not like we're keeping it secret! It was started as a planning page for those that wanted to help out with activities. Kept it private so we didn't have the usual chit chat about off topic items. Then after things were final it got moved to the "official" STR schedule...

No registration page has been added for this yet.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on advertising this big this year. I don't think we need to turn anyone away, but I wasn't going to invite multiple clubs, to have 1 or 2 actually show up.

Frisco woods but they don't open till March 15th for that,

Yep, they opened March 1st for reservations. Since I was not there last year, I think in the past is the kiteboarders and windsurfers prefer to be back closer to the bathrooms and protected by the wind.

We on the other hand usually grab sites on the sound side. If you're looking at the map, it's in the top left hand corner...

Deirdre called on the first but got a late.start and someone already had the spot we wanted. We ended up reserving c17 for.the entire week.

If anyone knows of a.good.cheap camper for sale let me know. Still at ntc.burger.to.use.my.phone a few.times a.day.
