Anyone got a rec for a good aftermarket stereo for a 2000 LC 100 that has Apple car play WIRELESS?

looking to upgrade after driving a 2020 rental car last week that had it. Man that was nice.

If you don't have factory NAV, there are many, many options to choose from at Crutchfield. If you do have factory NAV, you're options will be much more limited.

I do not have nav. So any recs? Does crutchfiled list wireless CarPlay as an option? I don’t want to have to plug in every time

Here are the in-stock "Wireless CarPlay" units that Crutchfield lists:

From my own personal experiences, I'd probably lean towards the Pioneer, but have no direct experience with that model.

I have the 8500NEX pioneer, which preceded the 8600NEX. The only difference between the 46xx/86xx and 45xx/85xx is including NAV.

The 8500NEX is a nice head unit. Wireless CarPlay is still an expensive option compared to the wired version.

Lots and lots of options for those without factory Nav. Just going to come down to how much you want to spend.

I have a cheapo chinesium Android headunit (OS) from JOYING. This is my second one and absolutely love it, no issues whatsoever, lots of stuff to customize and has been awesome for the year that it has been installed in Alita my 100. Had one of the other single din units in my old FJ60 for a few years, first "metal box" as they called it, was having issues. So I emailed their tech support in hopes that I could potentially get some help. Amazingly they did lots of troubleshooting with me and then when the issue couldn't be remedied they sent me out a new "metal box" free of charge.

So it all comes down to how much and what you are looking for. I would highly recommend going to a good stereo shop and playing with the different units to see which OS/interface you like best.

Oldest daughter had an Alpine in her 4R. I ended up daily driving it to work and the lack of a volume knob was super frustrating to me.
That was the EXACT reason why I got the model I did... It has a volume knob!

I have a Pioneer 4500NEX in my Tacoma and it’s perfect. There’s not as many choices for Wireless CarPlay as people think, but I love it and it’s worth the markup for me. I love getting in and not even taking the phone out of my pocket. For my LX, I let the stereo guy talk me into getting the next level up model, the 4600NEX. I don’t like it nearly as much because it doesn’t have an actual volume control button or knob. Touchscreen only. It’s hard to get my finger on it with my eyes on the road. The 4500 has a tactile button... much easier. Other than that both unit are very similar and I‘m happy with their functionalit.

Correct... Wireless Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto is still a bit buggy and not many mid-low end units have.

I have on my JOYING Unit but it is a bit finicky, so I just hard line into the unit (two USB on the rear) without issue.
This is the unit I have aside from the Android 10.0 OS..
Also got the AVHD backup camera for it and had no issue with length or anything like that. Only complaint is that it is not a "fisheye" type lens so you field of view isn't huge.
