Anyone have any experience with a Badlands 12,000 pound winch? I don't have the money to drop on a nice warn winch but still want the look and usefulness of a winch.

There was a thread in the 80 series tech section not long ago on this exact subject. My take - it's OK if you're life doesn't depend on it. I buy stuff all the time from Harbor Freight with the philosophy that if it breaks/doesn't work it's not the end of the world because "I got what I paid for". If you can apply that same philosophy to something like a winch and be OK with it, then I'm sure the Badlands winch is just fine.

Just make sure to get the 3 year warranty. I put a new one on the 80 I had the the guy I sold it to has already had to replace it less than a year later. I bought the Smittybilt x20 12k synthetic and I really like it. It was about double what the Badlands is but I think it's a lot better winch and has great reviews. At that price you're getting up to about what you can get a decent Warn for and if I had to do over again, I would probably waited and bought a Warn.

Well went out last Monday to check for oil leaks under the new (to me) fj62 after her first oil change, and to my great wonderful surprise there was a puddle of coolant :bang: . Just so happens I left to go to Orlando the very next morning. Beautiful. Now she's still at the shop on the lift getting checked out and haven't heard anything since I left and since I got back yesterday night. It's safe to say I'm about to lose my s*** if it means engine work. :rage:

Well after my Landcruiser has been sitting at the same shop for 3 weeks and hasn't been touched other than being moved around once or twice and receiving no calls on when to expect it's completion and no calls checking in with progress at all for that matter.... I think I'm going to take matters into my own hands and drop the new radiator and thermostat in myself. Anyone want to get their hands dirty? My garage at home isn't good for this task and we sold our shop building so I can't do it there either.

The new girl is going in for cancer treatment on the quarters and doglegs, hail repair on the front fenders and hood (new base/clear on hood also), and passenger quarter dent pulled.

Alright, fj62 question. My restored blue landcruiser is stalling and won't start once it's warmed up. I was in traffic and it died on me again after a new fuel filter, fuel pump, and throttle cable. I'm thinking it's an EFI relay bugging out once it's hot. Any help is very appreciated.

Have you looked at the fusible links at the battery. I had my whole fuel system take a dump when the link separated.

No I haven't yet. I just found a few videos on Youtube about it and figured I would throw out the question to the group to see if anybody had some actual information on the area as all I can find online is not much other than how to get there. Thanks bluehawk for the reply.

Hey, is Rance still on MUD? or Facebook? I need to get ahold of someone at UPS that actually has more than 2 brain cells. We moved to a new location with our office (this is the 3rd time I believe) and for some strange reason, we are having a very hard time getting them to get us on their pick up route. The folks that our admin has been talking to on the phone are clearly twits and I can hear her getting very frustrated. Was hoping that he, or perhaps one of you could help me get a number that is a level above the standard 800 operators.

Thanks in advance.

I texted him. He said he’d tell at you.
