I have heard good and bad. The bad is minor stuff compaired to the Non-Avenger Holley.

The circuit plate has a floating baffle of some sort in it that can malfuntion. You can shake it and hear it rattle. It works great for side hill angles but extreme up and down, it shuts the fuel flow off to prevent flooding.

i currently have one installed on my sons fj40...chevy 283...torker 2 manifold and the holley truck avenger 460 cfm carb...runs great...no problems with it....operates much better on off camber stuff than the rochester 2bbl did that we took off and threw in the trash....

Hmmmm...good to know. What carb are most guys using on their 350s?

The above description I made is after the carburetors have ran at least one year off roading but on street driven rigs.

The symptoms were that the rig idles fine and has good low rpm power. At 2200 - 2500 RPM they have a dead spot like it is not getting fuel. You can put 90 jets in them but the problem does not go away. You just have a very rich running carb with a dead spot.

Change out the circuit plate and you are good to go.

I test drove one of the fixed rigs this morning and it runs great. I test drove it before the problem was found as well.

Howdy! I am running a Carter/Edlebrock 500. It came with the spring loaded floats. I blocked off the equalizer passage in the back, as per suggestions on this board a long time ago, and I run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator at 6 on the street and 3 on the trail. No problems off camber or uphill. John

I have the Holley Truck Avenger on a stock 302. I found the Holley tech support excellent when choosing the correct CFM. I tuned it for 4,000 feet since I run daily at sea level but wheel at altitude. I took it through the Rubicon several times last year and it ran great. No loading up problems at all.
