Anyone with a bag awning?

I've also got the Fiamma. Solo set up is easy, but putting it away again is less-so. I like it a lot, but I've always wanted a bigger size. I think mine's the 2.2?

If you happen to have an 1.8m you can sell it to me and upgrade:idea:

Seriously

The new ARB awnings extend further than previous models, 8.2 ft to be exact. Along the way they have also had changes in the cam-locking legs and extensions, slight materials, etc. Moral of the story, get the latest and greatest from someone that knows the difference :D

Free delivery to Cruise Moab for anyone interested

After checking out a couple options I have decided to go with the Fiamma 1.8M. The Fiamma is sleek, high quality, enclosed in a small clam shell, super light at 13lbs, and works with my set up the best. All that comes at a price, almost twice the cost of other awning in its class.

The best price I can find is Cal tear drop at $425:mad: Does anyone know any others that sell the Fiamma at a lower price?

Yes there are other options but you won't like the shipping cost. I'm not sure the TearDrop price isn't already the lowest if shipping is included. If I bought while in the UK and shipped it to the hotel, could check it on the flight and converted currency the best I could find was about $364 USD and I still have to get it to you.

If I could get the VAT back at the airport it might be $305 but we still have the transport issue from the UK to Scottsdale. I will check another few options and let you know.

What color fabric?

Blue Ocean if given a choice

Phil, are you going to order the mounting brackets as well, or fab your own?

I have one of their powered units on my RV and it has performed flawlessly. I've been investigating various units for the 80 and this does seem promising for the price, esp. considering it is in an aluminum housing.

oilbrnr my plan is to mount it tight to the side clamps on my CampTeq.

Your good experience with there product seems to be the norm. The positive feedback does make the price slightly easier to swallow.

Is the color an option from TearDrop? Can we get a group ship discount to Scottsdale j/k? :D

I've seriously debated which way to leap on an awning and had pretty much resided myself to wait until after OX14 in May to make a decision. Somehow I had missed the Fiamma even though I'd see the name in a few threads. I know I want a aluminum housing and had been considering the Howling Moon unit, which is considerably more $$$, so this really looks interesting.

How soon do you plan on ordering, and do they stock these?

Well, I guess I could mount it while I'm there. Headed up to UT for five days after the Expo and it might be nice to have for the trip. So they are going to be an attending vendor?

They have in the past.

I'm reconsidering my choice of a Fiamma 1.8M after my last couple wheeling trip. I love the quality of the Fiamma and at only ~4" tall when closed is great but at ~$500 and running the risk of ripping it off or damage has me concerned.

My biggest limiting factor is I can only use an awning that when closed has a total height of 5". Im limited by where I mount it on my CampTeq and still have the ability to order to open and close my doors.

If you are an awning owner let me know if your awning has a closed height of 5" or less.
