The PM I would like to get done this summer is the PHH and the replacing my front 3rd member gasket (rebuilding front axle). I've been saving up on a college budget to bring it to a shop to get it taken care of but TarHeel 4WD wouldn't let me go in the shop and watch how they do it because I would really like to learn instead of just paying someone to fix my problems. I have a buddy with a shop but his project build is taking up the space and he doesn't have any other place to work that is ideal.

If anyone is willing to help, name your price! I would gladly appreciate it.

If no one local, come on by and i will teach you at the same time.

Not free ofcourse but if ya got nothing else.

Plan for a long day though.

And all major shops will tell you that for insurance purposes. It is true.

depending on when this summer i'm sure the charlotte crew could get a HAMOM together.

We have done some hamon here in charlotte. I know there are some very skiled people here just dont know if you will get their time at once. I am willing to help but the summer is busy for me and i have a baby ready to pop out in any moment so i can walk out at any moment. What i will do if i were you, i will set a day and a place and let people respond. My skill level is medium- low to medium but a set of hands is always good. Good luck! Most people here will work for beer and food. ( other than those that do it for a leaving :)

I appreciate it Darin, I will let you know. I talked to Alex down at Carolina Truggies he said could rebuild the front for $450 and add $50 for replacing the gasket for the 3rd just for labor. He wouldn't mind me in his shop as I have helped around before. This wouldn't be done until July cause his has to schedule me a month out. If we could get a hamon together that would be great, but I do not want to be the only reason for one. I do have another question for you guys(80's) about the Marlin Crawler HD inner axle seals for the 80. I've search and found so many mix reviews so I wanted to know what your guys' recommendations/experiences are. Should I go OEM?

My rule on 80's is since they seem to be engineered to puke out parts that aren't OEM, if there is a question on an aftermarket part go OEM.

I've heard bad things on the Marlins, but that said my OEM seals leaked prematurely also so it's up to you but i'd go OEM with the proven track record.

If you are a paid up to date member you can use the discount with Scott Clark to get all these parts for cheap.

Thanks Al, I should be since I bought the student membership not too long ago.

It seems that my Marlins are leaking after approximately 15,000 miles. I'm not sure yet how big of a hurry I'm in to replace them, though. We should probably talk. What's your summer schedule like for free time?

Sounds good John. Before July 1, I'm pretty much free anytime but I may pick up this job, so I am waiting on that schedule, but after July 1, I have class M-Thrs. 11:30-1:00.

Sounds good John, I am more than willing to set a set of hands and the tools I have to help you out as well.
