this is a rear axle right?
what was the front axle on the ford?

what years and models are the best for using?
can they be narrowed?

are any of you running them?

I think the fronts on ford trucks were Dana 44s and 50s. Even the big F350. They had a 8.8" and 9" rears.

This site makes 9s for the fronts:

So it can be done. How difficult, I don't know. I don't see any prices on that site so I can imagine it's out of control.

Good luck.

i run ford 9" on the rear narrowed arb 410 ring gear, oh its centered, currie will shorten it for you and they have a disc brake kit that has a drum brake on the inside of the rotors as a e brake,

it was a 44 up front.
i know of some heep guys that run 9's up front... custom made of course.

Me too. I just kinda chuckled and was nice and didn't mention that my 30 yr old cruiser (had 2 yr old TJ) didn't need an axle upgrade to safely run the same tires he was. :D

what size of tires was he running?

i'd say, judging on his sig line it would be 33's

smarta$$

as always
