Anyone relocate their Front Spring Hangers on a 60?

I'm considering doing that on the front for better shackle angles. It doesn't look like much fun, anyone here ever done it?

But, I don't think you are going to be able to change the angle and cycle the springs correctly. What's up w/ your shackle angle now? Still running stock springs?

I've been running BDS springs and stock length for a year now. I think I've been in denial about my front shackles being vertical, I've been waiting to let things settle and install my 8274 winch on my ARB bumper, well I got the winch on and now it almost seems worse, if its not straight up and down its pretty close. The backs are good and the front rides way rougher the the back. I considered taking out a leaf but from reading all the posts in the 40 sections it seems the only cure is to relocate the hanger.

If you relocate the hangers and use stock length shackles, your springs will not be able to flatten out under compression. THis is the curse of heavily arched springs...

mine with BDS 2 1/2 in kit and JT out fitters 1 1/2 shackles

rode better than my Oldman Emu heavy and flexed better too

Longer shackles could make it possible to relocate the hangers and shallow out the angle at ride height. But, getting the ratio of relocation/shackle length/flat eye to eye length would be really tricky to get right. Plus, longer shackles in front are rock magnets.

I might suggest pulling a leaf to get the pack to settle, but your compromise will be a little lower front end. However, flattening the springs will improve the shackle angle.

Pro comp ES3000 no sway bar ... I did put it back on after I welded the rear end ... but I Pulled one link off to wheel ... most of the time it was off

Ok thank you both for the info, I think I might try removing a leaf for a while. One last question for Klingon did you use axle shims or wedges with that brown 60 with the BDS springs?

Don't go pulling leafs out unless you want to change the spring rate and possibly tweak the other leafs. Relocating the shackle mount is easy, I've done it a few times already and the ride quality and the articulation are both enhanced. I moved the mounts inboard about two inches. Then a longer shackle is a must.

I have the same problem. Been running the 2.5" BDS lift for about 5 years. My shackle angle is about the same as yours. INMO, the front springs are too short. I just deal with it. My next lift will be a SOA w/ either custom flat alcans or stock springs w/ an add-a-leaf.

Thanks, maybe I will try to find some OME front springs and leave the BDS springs on the back or just deal with it too.
