My Dad is on the verge of pulling the trigger on this cruiser and I am wondering if it is anyone on here. Or if anyone on here knows about the rig. Motor and transmission were rebuilt around 50k miles ago he says and overall the rig looks great from the pictures supplied. The seller is going to be sending some undercarriage pictures to my Dad since none were supplied in the ebay listing. I feel like $15k isn't all that bad of a price considering the condition of the rig.

Any and all input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Toaster

Damn nice looking truck. Pls post the undercarriage pics to this thread.

Yes, it has been painted but judging from the fittings under the hood they are not showing too poorly (go look up a northern rig's engine pics and pay close attention to the pulley, hose fittings, etc. and then look @ the undercarriage and notice how rotted out it is).

Buy the CarFax on it and check the registration history, then get the undercarriage shots (knuckles, oil pan, trans, underside of radiator, and underside of rear bumper) and post them up here, pls.

It's been painted, so it's probably covering up a significant amount of rust. That would be my main concern.

The guy is working on sending my Dad some undercarriage shots and I will post them once he gets them. Rust was my main concern with it being a Florida rig, but @parker019 is right about the looks of everything under the hood it seems to look promising. I would love for everything to truly be as good as it looks with this rig and for my Dad to get it. I will update once undercarriage pics have been received. Thanks.

It does look good from the pics......you should get on a clubhouse boards for the FL groups to see if someone is nearby to look at.
If for some reason this falls thru I am seriously considering selling my 88 Red 62 if your dad is a fan or red. I am 4th owner, first owner bought it in Savannah, GA and then owners #2 & #3 were in Atlanta. I have owned for just over 5 years and selling as Grey is my favorite color for this model and long term that is what i want. Bought this because it was my then 17 year old daughters dream car and we surprised her with it on her 18th bday as she had been dealing with Lyme's disease the previous 2.5 years and she was blown away and loved driving it. She moved on to a Subaru Forrester 2.5 years ago for practicality/affordability and it broke my heart to start driving it (HA!, my wife and i fight over who gets to drive it!). Has 198k and i just had top end rebuilt after blown head gasket. Has been maintained the last 3 years by Marshall at Trollhole's Cruisers and when it was in Atlanta, Peter Merriam did all work to it. Has about 4 quite small spots of rust that are about to be fixed up by a paint & body guy that does all Trollhole's work....above license plate, below/behind passenger chrome piece that runs below doors, rear window corner and a bit inside drivers door frame.

I'm interested in the red cruiser. I didn't know how to pm and apologized if I hijacked the thread in anyway. Haven't posted more than a few times.

Dang that's a beautiful cruiser! My dad bought me a pretty ragged out 1989 FJ62 for my first car when I was 16 and I can honestly say I had no clue what a Land Cruiser was at the time. I ended up falling in love with the truck and sadly sold it years later when I moved away and it just sat back in my parent's barn.. 6 years later I ended up selling a 3 year old Tacoma to buy my HJ61 because I just couldn't stay away from my love for the 60 series. Ever since I got back into a 60 series my Dad caught the itch to have one haha. He is most likely about to follow through with buying the blue one in Florida here in the next few days, But if he doesn't I will let him know of your red one!

No worries! Hopefully everything works out and my dad gets his blue cruiser and you get @JToobe 's red cruiser! haha

So my Dad received the undercarriage pictures and has decided to go through with buying the Cruiser after seeing how clean everything is underneath. The only thing I see that doesn't make it look absolutely spotless is the residue at the front of the bell housing. But that is still worlds cleaner than most others I have seen out there. Stoked to get to check this thing out when I go visit for Christmas. Now I just got to get him here on mud so he can become fully engulfed in the Cruiser addiction:grinpimp:
