anyone know where I can find 40" extended gas springs around 75-100lb capacity? I need them for my trailer rack system and cannot find for I have searched Mcmaster, Allegis. The ones I have are super duty but are only 27" extended but I need like 40-42" long?

If you had the room, you could fabricate a bracket to hold two springs extending in opposite directions.

I don't think you will easily find gas struts any longer than 33 inches. This place lets you special order custom lengths, but I bet they cost a small fortune that way:

If at all possible you need to engineer the rack with the mounts in a different location, so you an use cheap standard struts from NAPA. Can you post pics? Maybe we can help you figure it out.

I saw your other thread and here you mentioned your trailer rack ??
Is the lid opening from one side or is it fixed in the middle and open front and back?
What trailer rack system are you referring to ?
