Another mud member told me about a fj40 sitting in a field near Ennis. I don't know much of anything about it. I was going to look at it in the next few weeks. It is a little west of Ennis. Anyone interested? It would be great to find it a home.

If available, I'm always interested, price is the only issue. I've stopped at a 2 of them around Ennis last spring and neither would sell.

This is a blue one in the town west of Ennis a little. I think it is on a side street off of the main street neat a barn of sorts. Does that ring a bell? If you have already checked it out I might not bother.

Thats probably the 1 sitting in Virginia City, I never did get over to look it, heard about it for quite awhile.

my father in law said there was one listed in the mini nickle, 3500$ if i remember right -it has a 350 in it. not running. Whats a good price on one that's not rusted to hell?

thinking that one was in Anaconda or Deer Lodge. it was in my local paper also. buying a non-running rig, I buy them as a worst case scenario total engine swap and maybe trans or transfer issues. You just don't know.
myself, I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for a non-running rig. Too many un-answered questions.

trying to remember, we were leaving town going North and there was a tow yard, maybe, repair shop on the right and it was in the yard with waste high weeds around it. it was light blue, early to mid 70's rig.

You are correct Paul, this one is just north of Ennis at a tow yard. Its a '73 and it looks like it has been somehow twisted. I think it has a bent frame. I remember thinking that it was more trouble than it was worth.

This is the one that is in VA City. Its a '68 I believe and is in pretty rough shape but could be usable for the right price. Not sure what condition the running gear is in.

A mud member from out east did a cross count ry drive. They saw it and posted it. That is what started this thread for me. That is all I am going on. Jus hoping to find it a home. I don't know much more than that.

The mud member is hecrod. Search his posts. He has a picture of it. Looks like it is not in a salvage yard

Yep that's the one. If you guys know about it I will probably not make the trip. I just hate to see it sitting out there when it could be in a good home.

3 things happen when I find rigs like that, the owners don't want to sell, or want too much for them or you get lucky and get a deal on 1.
the ones that don't want to sell or want too much for them are still usually in the same place 5 years later.
