Just stumbled upon this MOLLE storage panel. Install video looks pretty simple and I expect it would be plenty sturdy, but not sure how much use I would really get out of it at almost $400. Anyone have any experience?

I hadn't seen that either. Look sturdy i agree, but very expensive for not a massive benefit (for me at least). Install looks a bit involved also for the benefit. I could see more use outta a Gullwing window/door like LandCruiserPhil does on the 80's. Pretty sure i saw an Australian link for one on mud recently, can't remember the cost. More the merrier though, cool to have options.

I’ve been sitting on a set for a while and will be installing it within the next week. They advertise no drilling but there is clearly a bit of drilling required. Their response was no drilling was required for the panel. Duh, the panel was made for the vehicle, shouldn’t need to drill anything on that. Also when I bought the panels, they never mentioned that a rivnut tool was required. Even the video barely mentions it in passing. Just ordered the rivnut tool today so that needs to show up and I need to rip out my drawers. Sorry for crying, those two things just bothered me a bit. I don’t mind that I need to drill, just don’t advertise that it is “no drilling required”. I’ll try to grab some photos and report back when they’re in.

I have and umm... I wasn’t impressed. I hate to say that, it’s a good idea for those that like pouches (not my thing).

One thing that doesn’t make sense to me is that it is almost impossible to switch around items which it is mounted because you can’t really get to the back of the panel. So you have to remove it, make your changes, then reinstall it. It gets old. Maybe that’s just me, it’s probably also that MOLLE/PALS was a way of life for so long, so I expect easy adjustability to tailor the panel for the next trip. But, if something is going to be design for adjustability, make it easy.

There is a small rattle that still needs to be chased down despite everything being tight. Then there is cost... I could make that for $60, I just have a problem with things like that.

I've been waiting for mine that was placed at the beginning of November when they ran a special on the bare-metal versions. I think they will be handy but close to cancelling if they can't get them out this week...They were supposed to ship them last week. 🤬

I was primarily considering it for a place to mount a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, holster/mags (easy access while sleeping), handheld radio and flashlight. Seemed a good option when using drawers and folded second row as a sleeping platform. I’m surprised/turned-off by the cost, but also the lack of other options in the market.

The first aid kit was my primary reason for the panels. The kit I have is just a little too large for my drawers without laying it flat. I don’t want to take that sort of real estate up plus I don’t want to have other items buried on top. The panel will let me keep the first aid kit out on the open.

If you're looking for a place to put those things while you sleep inside. CoverKing sells seat covers for the 200 that have a molle system on the back. I've got the covers on my front seats. Easy place to put the things you listed and if you sleep with your feet towards the tailgate they will be right at your head to grab.

Did you install yours? How difficult was it ?

getting ready to install my side panels. One practical idea I thought up while painting mine was if the holes were threaded with 1/4" 20 the mounting options would be expanded.

I plan on mounting my radios and speakers on one side. All my radios have remote control heads/mics.

Sorry for the late reply. I just finished the install late last night, it went okay. They never included any sort of instructions so I had to wait for a YouTube video to be made from them and then had to watch it over and over to catch small details. My biggest complaint aside from the lackluster instructions was the anchor point for the top bolts. What they included did not inspire much confidence so I rigged up some spring loaded wing type drywall anchors. When I talked to them a few weeks ago, they stated they discontinued the panels for the 200 due to lack of interest.

Does anyone have still have any interest in this panel from Rago? Someone had one at LCDC that I really liked. If there is enough interest maybe they’ll do another run. I wonder if Dissent could do one 🤔

Looks like an item @TRAIL TAILOR would consider if there was interest as well. From the pictures, it's a CNC project for sure. Not interested myself, as the 4Runner model was a bit hard on my pups snouts when they got too close, and my rig interior is all about "K9 comfort."

I would definitely be interested in this if @TRAIL TAILOR or someone can make it. I will be stacking cargo on top of a sleeping platform/drawer system on one side and want to protect the window there. I also would like to have access to mounting points for the other side. This is a pretty high priority for me!

Wish you could have grabbed my attention, I would have let you get a better look
