Anyone have a 40 fuel sending unit and a meter handy?

Installed a Dakota digital dash cluster yesterday and I need to set up the fuel gauge. Rather than rip my seats, seat frame and tank cover out, would someone be willing to measure ohms on an uninstalled sender? Full is 17 and empty is 120, but I need 1/3 and 2/3 ohms readings. It would be most appreciated!

I'm trying to avoid taking the sender out since when I bought the truck I had bad fumes in the cab. After replacing the tank, filler neck, vapor canister, and the seal on the sender, it has been fume less. I would hate to take it out and then not get a good seal again. Plus I want to avoid pulling the seats and seat frames out for the 10th time. I believe the access hole in the tank cover is too small for the sender to come out as well. If no one has one, I'll just order one and have a spare.

I'd recommend the $$$ OEM unit. I've had 2 of the cheap versions that didn't test out right straight from the box. Still need to buy another good one, myself.

Do you have any of the smog stuff still? I don't and have always had a bit of an odor. Planning on putting it all back on and seeing what it does.

BTW - I'm working on my old Holley right now and hope to get to the QJet you gave me very soon. You coming to the M&G? I owe you a beverage of your choice.

Probably a good idea on the OEM version! I have an SBC 400 in mine, so no smog stuff. My whole fuel system was crap between a leaky tank and fliller neck (with a busted vapor canister), crappy electric fuel pump and a q-jet on its last leg. The sender was poorly sealed as well. Got all that ironed out and she's free of fumes now!

I'm actually moving to Indianapolis very soon, so probably won't make the meet and greet. I'm just happy someone could use it and get some life out of it. Q-jets are great carbs. Thanks for the beverage offer!

I don't have anything useful to add, but you bought one of those clusters? Awesome!

I'm cleaning house and forgot I had the tank from my '77 FJ45 I pulledit, got 19 full, 120 empty, guestimate 2/3 ~35, 1/3 ~ 65 ohms. hope it helps...

Thanks! Someone in the 40 tech area actually tested about every 5-10% and posted a graph. Excellent info if you've ever wondered! Thanks for checking for me!
