Had a fuel pump realay failure in 04, with 8 years and 110K on the odo.

put in a new relay, and now 3.5 years and 80K miles later the new fuel pump relay has also failed,

Both of them failed in the same way, on the high voltage side. symptoms hard to start and intermittent sudden losss of power above part throttle tapping the relay temporarily fixes.

It seams odd to get so little life out of these wile others go 300K and beyond on the original. I wonder if I have a contributing problem, high current fuel pump?

Am I the only one or do these fail on a regular basis for anyone else?

I had one fail on my 93 about 6 months ago... that was the original one...

Never had one fail in 230k miles on the '94, and don't know that the one on the '97 was replaced. I think you've got something else going on.

I ran a walbro HP for a few years with no Failure on the orginal relay. I did melt some wire in the fuel tank and decided to go back to stock. but the relay did work well. You may have something else up. Later Robbie
