I missed out last year and was thinking of going this time around. Any of you guys going to go? Do the sections meet and camp together sometimes? Like a Socal80s section?

I would like to make it this year. If I did, I would try to hang out with the Norcal guys. I ran Rubicon with them this year and they are a great group of guys. And...........they eat like kings:D I bet Pablo will be going.

For this year...Id probably go for at least a day - which day depends on my work schedule. Im hoping the Sunday run up the local mountains is a go - fires put a damper on that last year.

I plan on going again this year. Thought about leaving Friday, back Sunday or Monday (maybe some wine tasting in Paso )

It was fun caravanning 2 yrs ago Saturday morning though:hhmm:

I'm planning to go. I'll be leaving MV around noon (if I can get my son out of school a little early).

rfjtoy and I plan on going - either Thursday evening or Friday am after rush hour.

We can set up a SoCal80's section. The Norcal group always gets in very early and right near the center.

My wife and I are planning on going. I hope to take Friday off and make a nice extended weekend out of it.

It seems like Fri is a good day so far for the majority to caravan up. Im going to see if I can get that weekend off.

Dave, I dont think anybody is going to get a hissy fit - Just dont forget to trailer the Heep to the SMB. :D
I do hope you can make it.

We were going for sure this year, but now we don't have our 80 series. Wonder if anyone would get pissed if we brought the new rig? hehehe

Dave-

There are always a few stray brands hanging out and it will give us chance to see the new rig in person. I hope you show up.

So what's for dinner then?

I think I'll be making some lamb and steak kabobs for Friday and some high quality burgers for Saturday. I may also bring a big batch of homemade chili that we can leave out for lunch or late night munchies. I'm glad you're in touch with Stan, I was starting to worry that he never made it back from Africa?

LOL re Stan. I had the same fears!!!

Spoke to him and saw him a week ago. He's totally wrapped up in a big case that's consuming all his spare time. He made it back ok. God love him for what he does!!!

Food sounds good. We'll probably plan on a few things as well given the extra time we get this year. Ice cream may not be doable w/o a run into town since we'll both probably need to stock regular food items in the ARB's.

Really stoked. This is the first year I'll be able to get there sometime other than Saturday morning! Looking forward to the extra days on the beach and the festivities Friday evening!!! :bounce:

is anybody going...that's a trick question right?

heck yeah I'm going.
got the trailer reso already even!

it will be PorkFest '08 with the caja china's and grills galore!

Can't wait for the poker run and the jumping after that.
only 65 days left.
I gotta start working on the rig!

You're invited only if you bring Bubba!

LOL! It may be all or nothing this year. Cindy wants to come, but I can't see bringing all three dogs with us; it's just too much work. That means finding a doggy sitter:mad:

If Cindy can't make it, then Bubba's riding shotgun!:D

In 2006 several of us made the trip through the Santa Margarita mountains out to a funky little place called the Pozo Saloon. It was a great time and I want to do it again this year.

I have volunteered to help Jim tear down on Sunday then plan to run out to Pozo, leaving Oceano by 12:00 noon. I'll post up directions to Pozo later today.

Welcome to Pozo Saloon

pozomap.jpg

The Pozo Saloon is located off the US Highway 101. From north or south, take the Santa Margarita exit. Follow all the signs to Santa Margarita Lake. We are located 10 miles past Santa Margarita Lake on Pozo Road. Please stay on Pozo Road after leaving Santa Margarita. If you come from the east on 58, DO NOT TURN AT THE SIGN THAT WILL SAY POZO 12 MILES!!! THAT IS THE OLD STAGE COACH ROAD. KEEP HEADING WEST TO POZO ROAD!

These are on road directions only. We will be taking a very scenic somewhat challenging fire road that connects with Pozo Road. I'll post our directions later.
