anyone ever widen split rims? (1 Viewer)

So I put some AEV 17" wheels and 33x12.5 tires on and though it beefed it up a bit I just miss the look of my splits and wondering what the options are on being able to widen split rims in which I have read of folks doing on non split factory rims or such? any info would be greatly appreciated for I would like some wider tires on my splits

there was a thread about taking the splits center out and making a non split rim from them...you could in turn make it a 17" non-split rim...just need to find a good place to do it

Yep I had a set of split rims 20 years ago that were cut and had 50mm strips welded into them to widen them, I never did them but they were cut and welded in a jig to keep them true and I never had any problems with them, I've also got a set of rims that have had the centres cut out and shifted (flipped) to give a wider offset
