I was trying to figure out if/how it can realistically be opened without ruining the TPS... I'm trying to get rid of a 51 engine code and I'm seeing infinite resistance on the closed TB position. I'm thinking if I clean it then it would show the correct Ohm reading again.
 
Ended up just buying a new one as they aren't breaking the bank. Installed it, put a spacer in front of the throttle stop and turned until I saw the MM show open. Boom. problems all gone, 51 code gone, power starvation gone.
