Replacing leaf spring bushings,

The bolts that are on there, bolts look original, very hard to remove.

Photo's i've sen they look rough.

Should I just just replace with new? Seems like i should have them on hand before I start the process?

Are there better options than OEM? (greasable?)

Does anyone sell a complete set, instead of one at a time?

Since the bushings have a lip, you can't just press them out... Is there a trick?

I was thinking one hook from a bearing puller in through the hole, to a comelong? Or a blind hole bearing puller?

Thanks,

Eric-

Yes replace them all. You’ll likely need to cut them with an angle grinder or you’ll spend a week cursing everything good in this world.

I vote for greasable shackles and pins. I also vote for cruiser outfitters for your parts. They sell it all and in different configurations. Give them a call and get your parts on hand before you start tearing into everything.

It’s a sucky job, but you’ll be glad you did it.

Yes, replace, if original or corroded. Sometimes they're so corroded in there, you'll have to cut or burn them out. There are some youtube vids on how to do it. There are different methods.

If you call Cruiserteq.com (@cruiseroutfit ) they can get you everything you'll need - pins, bushings, etc...

For folks who see this later here are the recommendation at cruiser teq for my 82.

The grease can cause premature degradation of the rubber. You can use the greasable pins with them but you will be replacing the bushings more often. Nothing else should be needed but the spring pins and shackles. I have linked you to the appropriate parts below.

Greasable: (w/ poly bushings)
Shackles: Greaseable Shackle - Fits 8/1980-1/1990 4x/6x/7x 85mm FRONT & REAR (4 Req.) Applications (SH60050G) - https://cruiserteq.com/greaseable-shackle-fits-8-1980-1-1990-4x-6x-7x-85mm-front-rear-4-req-applications-sh60050g/
Spring Pins: Greaseable Spring Pin - Fits 8/1980-1/1990 4x/6x/7x Applications (SP60040G) - https://cruiserteq.com/greaseable-spring-pin-fits-8-1980-1-1990-4x-6x-7x-applications-sp60040g/

Non-greasable: (W/ rubber bushings)
Shackles: Shackle - Fits 8/1980-1/1990 4x/6x/7x 85mm FRONT & REAR (4 Req.) Applications (SH60050) - https://cruiserteq.com/shackle-fits-8-1980-1-1990-4x-6x-7x-85mm-front-rear-4-req-applications-sh60050/
Spring Pins:Spring Pin - Fits 8/1980-1/1990 4x/6x/7x Applications (SP60040) - https://cruiserteq.com/spring-pin-fits-8-1980-1-1990-4x-6x-7x-applications-sp60040/

The greasable shackles are also available as anti-inversion shackles if you determine you would like to go with the greasable option.
